The Water Spirit is a Normal-rank creature in AION 2's open world, level 14–16, and it attacks on sight. On the Elyos side it lives in Verteron, and all 34 of its marked spots there sit in Spirit's Rest, so that one area is where every hunt for it happens.

Teleport to the Spirit's Rest statue and the spirits are about 10 m away, so you can start fighting almost as soon as you arrive. Each kill gives a guaranteed Soul: Lesser Water Spirit (Bound), with Spiritstone at 3.9% and Refining Stone at 0.65%. Forgotten armour pieces drop at between 0.16% and 0.32%, and the Rare Rainy Forest Gloves and Boots at 0.12% each. Several quests also send you here. Undying Light needs 3 kills. Eternal Friend needs 15 and pays 4,044,724 XP along with the title Soulmate. Rest Stop Protection needs 20 for 1,000 Abyss Points and 50,000 Kina (Bound). The repeatable duty Festival Preparations: Spirit's Rest asks for 15.
