The Yellow-Maned Zaif is a level 27 Normal creature that roams the open world of Verteron on the Elyos side. It does not attack on sight, so you can pick your fights and work through a group without being swarmed. All 27 of its marked spots in Verteron sit in Pilgrim's Ridge, which makes that area the only place worth heading when you want to farm it.

The closest teleport statue is at Rock Hill Outpost, about 300 m from Pilgrim's Ridge, so the walk over is short. Every kill gives Soul: Aberrant Zaif (Bound), and the more common extras are Raw Leather at 5.8% and Fresh Raw Meat at 4.9%. Refining Stone drops at 0.65%, while the rarer Expert's Refining Stone comes in at 0.16%. The Zaif also carries the Riverside armour set: Gloves, Boots and Cloak at 0.27% each, Helm and Pauldrons at 0.21%, Greaves at 0.18% and Breastplate at 0.13%.
