Forest Form Ignitis is the green-and-black variant of the Nova stage assassin, and unlike the standard version it carries a dual Dark/Grass typing. It does not appear from a random overworld encounter you can stumble into. Something has to trigger it, and that trigger runs through Mistwoods.
Quick answer: Catch the Alpha Ignitis that spawns in Berylline Vale at night, put it in your battle party, then defeat six Wisptis in Mistwoods while controlling Ignitis.
What you need before the Forest Form will spawn
- A base Ignitis, caught from the Alpha encounter in Berylline Vale.
- That Ignitis slotted into your active battle party, not left in storage.
- Night set as the time of day, since the Alpha only spawns then.
- Enough combat power to clear wild Wisptis in Mistwoods, which sit around Lv. 43.
The party requirement is the part people miss. The spawn condition checks which Aniimo you are actually controlling during the fights, so Ignitis needs to be the one on the field.

Ignitis does not roam the open world as a standard wild spawn. The only way to meet it in the field is its Alpha variant, and that encounter is locked to one region and one time of day.

Alphas are oversized versions of the species, so expect a longer fight than a wild catch and bring a Break-focused Aniimo to open the damage window.
Trigger the Forest Form spawn in Mistwoods
With Ignitis in hand, the rest is a kill counter. Mistwoods is full of Wisptis, the Lumin stage form that Ignitis evolves from, and clearing enough of them while playing as Ignitis forces the Forest variant to show up.

You cannot change your party mid-fight, so make sure Ignitis is set up before you engage the first Wisptis rather than trying to swap in once combat starts.
Catch rate and modifiers for Forest Form Ignitis
Forest Form Ignitis has a base catch chance of 25 percent, so a first throw failing is normal rather than a sign you did something wrong. Two modifiers stack on top of that base figure.
- Breaking it first multiplies the catch chance by 1.5.
- Throwing from behind for a backstab also multiplies the chance by 1.5.
- The species sleeps at night, which is the same window the Alpha uses.
How to confirm you have Forest Ignitis
Open the Aniimo menu after the catch. Forest Ignitis is stored as a separate entry from the standard Ignitis, with its own Aniilog slot under the Ignitis species, and the model is unmistakably green and black rather than purple. Its element line reads Dark and Grass instead of Dark alone.

Evolution route: Forest Wisptis to Forest Ignitis
The wild spawn is not the only path. Forest Wisptis, the Lumin stage Dark/Grass version that appears in Mistwoods at night, evolves straight into Forest Ignitis once it meets three conditions at the same time.

| Requirement | Condition |
|---|---|
| Level | Forest Wisptis at Lv. 29 |
| Battle condition | In a row, take down 3 Wisptis matching your Form. |
| Location | Mistwoods or Blitzwood |
| Cost | Night Stone x3 |
Catching the wild Forest Ignitis skips all of that, which is why the six-Wisptis trigger is the faster route if you already have a base Ignitis. The evolution path matters more if you happened to catch a Forest Wisptis first and would rather raise it than hunt the Alpha.
Forest Ignitis stats and skills
Forest Ignitis is a Nova stage DPS with a higher stat total than the base form, mostly in survivability rather than raw attack.

| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| 105 | |
| 125 | |
| 52 | |
| P.DEF | 92 |
| 85 | |
| REGEN | 91 |
| Total | 550 |
It keeps the Battle Fervor trait, which grants a stack of Battlelust on every kill for a 25 percent damage increase over 20 seconds, stacking twice. The Grass typing adds Forest Whirl, a spinning slash that hits everything nearby and builds the same stacking self-buff as Scythe Dance, capping at 32 percent extra damage for 10 seconds. It also keeps Cloak for stealth movement and Fly for pathfinding.
The tradeoff for the second element is a wider set of weaknesses. Wind hits it hardest by a wide margin, so keep it off the field against Wind enemies and lean on its Dark and Grass coverage everywhere else.
