Aniimo: How to Get Nimbi Cloudmist Form

The exact Nimbus Fields ruins where this Wind Support variant floats, plus the backstab trick that makes the Anipod throw stick.

The Cloudmist Form of Nimbi is one of the four coat variants in the Nimbi line, and it does not wander the whole map. It sticks to a single habitat in Breezy Plains, which makes it one of the easier alternate forms to farm once you know the patch of ground it circles.

Quick answer: Head to Nimbus Fields in Breezy Plains, go to the stone ruins at -1117, 0751, walk up behind a floating Nimbi Cloudmist Form, and throw an Anipod.

Nimbi Cloudmist Form location in Nimbus Fields

Nimbus Fields is the only habitat recorded for this form. The plain Nimbi also shows up in The Argent Strait, but the Cloudmist coat does not follow it there, so there is no point sweeping the coastline for one.

The spawn point is a cluster of weathered stone ruins surrounded by floating green plants with bubble-like pods. The Cloudmist coat reads as a pinkish, peanut-butter tone against the white clouds, so it is easy to pick out from a distance once you are on the right side of the field.

How to catch Nimbi Cloudmist Form with an Anipod

Open the world map and move the cursor over Nimbus Fields in Breezy Plains until you are on the coordinate readout -1117, 0751. Drop a marker there so the route line stays on your HUD while you ride.

Close the map and ride across the grassland toward the marker. Nimbus Fields is open terrain, so a mount cuts the trip down considerably, and nothing along the way blocks the route.

At the ruins, look up. The Cloudmist Form hovers a little above head height near the broken stonework and the bubble plants, and it will be tagged somewhere in the Lv. 17-21 range.

Circle around so you are behind it before you aim. Lining up the throw from the rear applies a x1.5 Backstab multiplier to the capture, which is what pushes a Lv. 18 Nimbi into the Guaranteed Success bracket.
Throw the Anipod. With the backstab bonus applied at that level, the throw resolves as a Guaranteed Success and the Nimbi is added to your roster without a struggle phase.

Check the capture prompt before you throw. If it reads Guaranteed Success, the Anipod cannot fail, so there is no reason to weaken the Nimbi first.

How to confirm the catch worked

A successful throw returns a Guaranteed Success confirmation with the x1.5 Backstab bonus shown alongside it, and the Nimbi disappears from the field. From there, the Cloudmist Form fills its own slot in the Aniilog, separate from the base Nimbi, the Rainstorm Form and the Plateau Form. If the Aniilog slot is still greyed out, you caught a different coat.

Farming the same ruins for a shiny Cloudmist Nimbi

The ruins keep repopulating. Both the standard Cloudmist Form and its rare shiny version turn up in the same small stretch of ground, so the sensible approach is to clear the spawn, run a loop of the ruins, and come back rather than hunting elsewhere in Nimbus Fields.

Nimbi Cloudmist Form stats and element matchups

Cloudmist Nimbi is a Wind Aniimo with the Support role, sitting at the Lumin Stage. Its numbers lean defensive, with Regen and M.DEF carrying the spread and Break trailing well behind.

Element matchups matter more than the raw totals when you field it:

  • Takes x1.6 damage from Electric and Holy
  • Takes x1 damage from Grass, Fire, Rock and Water
  • Takes x0.625 damage from Wind, Dark and Ice

Its Aniilog entry notes that these Nimbi favour the scent of Sunny Daisy over grass, which is why the wool carries a golden tinge and soaks up more heat than the pure white coat.

Shrouded in Mist and combat skills

Everything this Nimbi does keys off one trait. After six basic attacks it enters the Shrouded in Mist state, and the next skill you cast consumes that state for a stronger version of the effect. Its basic attack is a ranged Wind hit, so you can build the state up from a safe distance.

Thunder BoltElectric108s
Cloud ShieldWind2020s
Cloud OrbWind10

Thunder Bolt throws projectiles formed out of thunderclouds. Under Shrouded in Mist those projectiles detonate on contact for damage equal to 120% Might and leave Paralysis on the target for 5 seconds, which is the closest thing this Aniimo has to crowd control.

Cloud Shield wraps the Nimbi in a barrier that soaks damage up to 15% of max HP and cuts stamina use by 15% for 20 seconds. Spending the Shrouded in Mist state on it raises the absorption to 19% of max HP.

Cloud Orb fires a condensed cloud missile at a single target, and the Shrouded in Mist version swaps the small impact for a much larger explosion on hit.

Puff Up and Fly Lv.1 for traversal

Outside combat, the Cloudmist Form is a movement tool. Its mobility skill, Puff Up, inflates the Nimbi so you jump higher and get one dash while airborne. It also carries Fly Lv.1 as a pathfinding ability, which covers gliding-style traversal over the open stretches of Breezy Plains. On the Homeland side it contributes a Leisure Lv. 1 and a Wind Lv. 1 ability.

Catching one early is worth the detour even if you never field it in combat, because those two traversal options make the rest of Nimbus Fields far quicker to comb for the shiny coat.
