Hitting a wall in Aniimo where your EXP bar fills but your level never moves is not a grind problem. Student Level is a hard cap on everything you can level, and the only way past it is a Pathfinder promotion handled through Elite Training. Student III is the third rung on that ladder, and it takes a specific set of course objectives plus a two-part assessment with Dr. Lewis.
Quick answer: Clear four course objectives in your Student III Elite Training chapter, report to Dr. Lewis, then pass the Promotion Assessment and the theory questionnaire. The title raises your level cap to 40.
Student III course objectives in Elite Training
Each Elite Training chapter lists more objectives than you actually need. You only have to finish four of them to unlock the assessment, so pick the ones that overlap with where you already are on the map. The chapter that leads to Student III pulls from resonance, exploration, Primegy spending, Alpha fights, and the main story.
| Objective | Where | What completes it |
|---|---|---|
| Own 1 Aniimo with Resonance raised to Gamma Stage | Evolve menu | Raise one partner’s resonance |
| Earn the Bronze Collection Badge in Beast Fang Ridge | Catch completion in the region | |
| Spend 150 Primegy in total | Anywhere | Cumulative Primegy spending |
| Defeat the Alpha in Beast Fang Ridge: Scorchhowl | Win the Alpha fight | |
| Challenge the Alpha of Argent Strait: Tubster | Argent Strait | Win the Alpha fight |
| Visit the place where dreams come true | Main story | Progress the quest Fragrant Colors |
Raise one Aniimo to Gamma Stage resonance
Open the Evolve menu and check which of your partners is closest to the next resonance stage. You only need a single Aniimo at Gamma Stage, so put your materials into one creature rather than spreading them across the team.

Earn the Bronze Collection Badge in Beast Fang Ridge
The badge tracks how much of the region’s roster you have caught, and the percentage is visible on the world map when you select Beast Fang Ridge. Since two other objectives in this chapter also take place in Beast Fang Ridge, sweep the area for uncaught species while you are there rather than making a separate trip.
Spend 150 Primegy in total
Progress on this one is shown inside the Institute Guide, counting up toward 150. Claiming rewards after an Alpha fight is the simplest way to burn through it, since a single claim can consume 30 Primegy at a time. The objective is cumulative, so partial spending carries over between sessions.

Defeat Alpha Scorchhowl in Beast Fang Ridge
Scorchhowl is a Fire wolf that roams Beast Fang Ridge and hits hard with moves like Burn Breaker and Falling Star. Water and Ground partners handle it comfortably. Winning the fight hands over the Tenacious Fang material alongside the training credit.

- Element: Fire, DPS role, stage 3 of the Emberpup family
- Habitat level range in Beast Fang Ridge: 30–35
- Base stats: 95 HP, 119 attack, 80 defense, 119 magic attack
- Release reward: Growth Flower (2); report reward: Credits (100)

Challenge Alpha Tubster in Argent Strait
Track the objective, then travel to the coastal arena in Argent Strait. Lightning and Light attacks work well against Tubster, and you can claim the task reward straight from the objective once the fight ends.

Visit the place where dreams come true
This objective is tied to story progress rather than free exploration. Open your Log and continue the main quest Fragrant Colors, which takes you to the location the course is asking about.

Finishing the course objectives does not promote you on its own. The title only changes after you run the assessment sequence, which is the same three-part flow for every Pathfinder rank.
You will know it worked when your Pathfinder title reads Student III and your character level bar starts moving again past the previous ceiling. Report Cards land in your inventory at the same time.
Pathfinder titles and level caps
Each promotion raises the ceiling in fixed steps. These are the caps the title grants, not the level you need to start the promotion, so the real gate is always your Elite Training progress.
| Pathfinder title | Level cap |
|---|---|
| Student I | 25 |
| Student II | 35 |
| Student III | 40 |
| Wayfarer I | 45 |
| Wayfarer II | 50 |
| Wayfarer III | 55 |
| Trailblazer I | 60 |
| Trailblazer II | 65 |
Research Level is a separate system tied to individual Aniimo families and will never lift a Pathfinder cap. It unlocks things like extra accessory slots, growing from one starting slot up to five, but if your character has stopped leveling, Elite Training is the place to look.
EXP sources to fill the new cap to 40
Once Student III lands, the ceiling moves to 40 and you need EXP again. The most efficient approach is stacking activities that also satisfy an Elite Training objective, so one fight pays twice.
| Activity | EXP | Limit or cost |
|---|---|---|
| Daily activities (full track) | 3,000 | 600 per checkpoint, daily reset |
| Alpha first clear | 500 | Once per Alpha |
| Alpha repeat claim | 150 | Costs energy |
| Sanctum completion | ~500 | Per Sanctum |
| 300 | Per challenge | |
| 250 | 50 energy, 3 per day |
Main story quests remain the biggest single payouts, and collection milestones chip in too, with 40 percent collection progress in Blitzwood worth 500 EXP. Buying all three Daily Supply Packs costs 150 energy for 750 EXP plus upgrade materials, which competes directly with Alpha reward claims for your energy budget.
Go back through earlier Elite Training chapters before grinding. Advancing to a later stage does not auto-claim what you skipped, and those old objectives still pay out.
What Report Cards from the promotion are for
Report Cards feed your own Pathfinder talent tree, not an individual Aniimo’s skills. They buy active tools and passive bonuses covering traversal, healing, catching, combat, and exploration. A promotion can open a new tier of talents, but nothing is learned automatically, so you still have to spend the cards on the nodes you want.
Promotions are only one way to get Report Cards. Level progression, Aniilog Level, Journey Quests, and the Elite Pathfinder Challenge provide more, so you can shape your build between promotions without waiting for the next title.
