Resonance is how you push a single Aniimo past its ordinary level curve. It permanently raises a creature’s base stats through repeated training, and it is the system you build around once you commit to a specific Aniimo for endgame content. Progress sticks to that one creature, so it rewards focus rather than spreading resources thin.
Quick answer: Resonance raises one Aniimo’s base stats through Star-Up (flat gains paid in regional Dewdrop Crystals) and Ascension (stage bonuses gated by the creature’s level and elemental stones). It unlocks at Character Level 2.

How to unlock Resonance in Aniimo
Resonance is tied to early story progress, not to a menu you can open from the start. You reach it during the mission “Dewdrop Crystals of the Sea of Flowers”, once your account hits the right rank.

Add to Google Preferences →Star Up and Ascension: the two upgrade actions
Inside the Training tab, Resonance splits into two linked actions. Star Up is the frequent, incremental step. You spend regional Dewdrop Crystals to fill the current stage’s stars, and each transaction grants a fixed stat increase. The gains are shown before you confirm, and they are set amounts rather than random rolls.
Ascension is the milestone step. Once a stage’s stars are full, Ascension moves the Aniimo into the next stage and applies that stage’s bonus, which is usually a multi-stat percentage boost or a flat top-up. Ascension is gated: the creature must reach a required level before you can pay the cost and advance. Levelling only unlocks the gate; you still have to perform the Ascension yourself.
Later stages raise the demands. The final Ascension steps also require Omnisource Crystal on top of the usual materials, so budget for that before you reach them.
Dewdrop Crystal costs and stat gains per Star-Up
The Star-Up ladder repeats the same six positions, with costs climbing from 20 to 60 crystals. Each position returns a fixed pair of stats.
| Star-Up | Dewdrop cost | Stat gain |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 20 | ATK +10, BREAK +5 |
| 2 | 25 | P.DEF +5, M.DEF +5 |
| 3 | 30 | HP +320, REGEN +8 |
| 4 | 40 | P.DEF +5, M.DEF +5 |
| 5 | 50 | ATK +10, BREAK +5 |
| 6 | 60 | HP +320, REGEN +8 |
You can confirm each upgrade landed by watching your Combat Power move. A Level 57 Glameep sitting at CP 1200 spends 20 Dewdrop Crystals on its first Star-Up, gains ATK +10 and BREAK +5, and its CP reads 1215 afterward. The crystal count in your inventory drops by the exact amount shown, so the transaction is easy to verify.

Materials Resonance uses
Each Aniimo profile assigns its own materials, so the item names change from creature to creature even though the cost pattern stays the same. There are four roles to track.
| Material role | Used for |
|---|---|
| Regional Dewdrop Crystal | Every Star-Up inside a stage |
| Assigned elemental stone | Ascending into the next stage |
| Flux Crystal | Universal substitute when the assigned stone is missing |
| Omnisource Crystal | Extra cost for the late Ascension stages |
The elemental stone is specific to each Aniimo, such as a Freeze Stone or a Loam Stone. If you are short on the assigned stone, the Ascension screen offers a Flux Crystal conversion so you are not blocked.
Where to get Dewdrop Crystals
Dewdrop Crystals appear across the world, and the regional crystal your Aniimo needs comes from a spread of activities:
- Chests found through open-world exploration
- Defeating Alpha and Omega bosses
- Elite Training and Pathfinder challenges
- Level rewards, shops, and the Companion Handbook battle pass
Catching more Aniimo does not farm the regional Dewdrop Crystals a Star-Up wants. The training tutorial flags “catching Aniimo yields Dewdrop Crystals” as the wrong answer. Duplicate catches can give family-specific crystals, but that is a separate currency and does not feed the regional crystal on your Aniimo’s profile. Build your route around the exact crystal named for that creature.

No refund, but you can move progress with Inherit
Resonance materials are limited and there is no way to refund what you spend, so invest in the Aniimo you actually plan to keep using. The one safety valve is Inherit, which transfers a creature’s Resonance stage and star rank to an eligible same-family Aniimo. That protects a developed profile if you swap to a better catch in the same line, though building several profiles at once still burns separate materials.
Keep Resonance separate from the other growth layers as you plan. It only adds base stats and stage bonuses. Raising a creature’s ordinary level is what meets the Ascension gates, while Capability Awakening is its own system with its own currencies. Decide which Aniimo earns your first crystals, farm its assigned regional Dewdrop Crystal, and hold back the elemental stones for each Ascension so a full stage does not stall right at the finish.
