Trading is how you fill the gaps in your Aniilog that catching alone can’t reach quickly, like a regional form from a region you haven’t visited or a weather form your world hasn’t rolled. In Aniimo, swapping is strictly friends-only. There is no auction house and no anonymous market, so every exchange runs through a real person you’ve befriended and met up with in the world.

Quick answer: Add the player as a friend, raise your affinity to Good Friend rank, meet them in the world, and open the exchange from their Profile. Both players spend a daily swapping attempt, and each trade is capped at five per day.

What you need before you can trade

Trading has a short list of hard requirements. Miss any one of them and the exchange simply won’t open.

  • The other player must be on your friends list.
  • Your affinity with them must reach at least Good Friend rank. At New Friend rank, Aniimo trading is blocked.
  • Both of you need to be together in the world when the swap resolves.
  • Both players must have a daily swapping attempt available.

Add a friend and open an exchange

Add the other player as a friend. You can send friend requests in player hubs such as Astra City or at campsites.

Invite them into Companion Mode, or ask to join them as a companion. Playing together is also the fastest way to build the affinity you’ll need next.
Raise your affinity until you reach Good Friend rank. Once you do, open that friend’s Profile and start the exchange from there. Both of you confirm the swap after meeting up.

An invitation is only a proposal, not a commitment. Either side can decline the invite or cancel an exchange after it starts, and the game shows a separate notice for each case.

Raise affinity, the gate on trading

Affinity is the friendship meter that unlocks trading and gifting. You build it through ordinary play with one friend rather than a dedicated grind. The strongest daily gains come from fighting alongside them.

Adding someone to your blacklist ends the friendship and resets your affinity points to zero. Weeks of progress won’t survive a moment of annoyance.

What you can trade at each affinity level

The closer your friendship, the wider the pool of Aniimo you can exchange. The scope opens in three steps.

Affinity LevelAniimo you can exchange
Level 2Regular Aniimo in Lumin Stage Basic Form (starter stock only)
Level 3Regular Aniimo in Basic Form from any stage
Level 4Regional and weather forms, the widest scope

Check the per-friend status line on a Profile before you promise a form. A friend at Level 3 can’t receive a regional or weather form, and the exchange won’t even offer it. An affinity shortfall can’t be fixed on the spot.

Daily trade limit and the 30-day lock

You can trade a maximum of 5 times per day with your friends, so pick the swaps that matter and hold onto the Aniimo you want on your team. Swapping attempts are held per player and refresh on a daily clock, which means your friend can run out of attempts before you do.

Once an Aniimo is traded, it cannot be exchanged again for 30 days. The lock travels with the creature, not the account, so a copy you receive can’t be passed along the same evening. Plan any chain of swaps around that month rather than routing several creatures through one middle player.

There is one upside built into the exchange itself. During a trade, an Aniimo has a chance to randomly gain an Individual Value level. That bonus rides on the creature that moves, so swapping two spare copies gives both a roll neither would get sitting in storage. It is a chance, not a guarantee, and the 30-day lock still applies either way.

Gift boxes and Companion Mode: two more ways to move Aniimo

Sendable gift boxes pay both the sender and the recipient, and two of them can hand over an egg. They also grant affinity, so sending one doubles as an investment in the friendship.

Gift of Affection20,000 Credits (20% chance of 1 elite Aniimo egg)10,000 Credits50
Gift of Celebration60,000 Credits and 1 elite Aniimo egg30,000 Credits99

Companion Mode is a genuine second route. An Aniimo caught by the guide during a group adventure can be gifted to another member of the group, provided you have sufficient affinity with that friend. That lets you hand over a fresh catch without spending a swapping attempt on it. Mutated crops from your Home farmland can also be gifted to friends, giving you a repeatable present with no gift box attached.

Trade refusals and what they mean

If an exchange won’t go through, the game tells you exactly why with one of these messages.

  • “Only friends can exchange Aniimo” — you haven’t added the player as a friend yet.
  • “Not enough swapping attempts” — you’ve used up your own daily attempts.
  • “Your friend does not have swapping attempts left today” — they’ve used up theirs.
  • The maximum number of friend exchanges has been reached — you’ve hit the daily cap.
  • “Insufficient Affinity. Gift failed.” — your affinity is too low to entrust that friend with an advanced Aniimo.

You know a trade landed when the exchange resolves and the Aniimo appears on the correct side, and completing one counts toward the in-game task that asks you to exchange an Aniimo with a friend. Because trading is an unpaid way to acquire forms that catching can’t reach quickly, it’s worth setting up early rather than saving for the endgame.
