Anime Adventures, the Roblox anime tower defense game, went live with Update 21 “Summer 2026 + Return” (“UPD 21.0.0”) on 7 Nov 2026 UTC. The update brings 14 new and featured units, and they don’t all deal damage at the same rate.
Quick answer: Mage Slayer, Dreamer and Explosion Mage are S tier in Anime Adventures Update 21, ranked by evolved DPS of 140 or more, with Mage Slayer on top at 250.0 evolved DPS.
The ranking is built from the units’ stats in the game, not from play testing. Each unit’s damage is divided by its attack cooldown to get damage per second (DPS). Units are ranked by DPS after evolution, because every unit here evolves and evolution raises damage only. The tiers are S = evolved DPS 140 or more, A = 120 to 139, B = 90 to 119 and C = below 90. Range, placement cost and damage type are listed for ties and team building. Abilities, passives, area of effect, buffs and upgrade levels are not counted, so units whose value is in their abilities (Paradox, Crush, Iron Sentinel’s drones) sit lower here than they may play. All stats are base stats at placement, level 1.

S tier: Mage Slayer, Dreamer and Explosion Mage
Mage Slayer deals True damage with no secondary type, and it tops the update in both damage and evolved DPS by a wide margin. It evolves into Mage Slayer (Heavenly), “+50% Attack, +Heaven-Piercing Fang”.
Dreamer becomes Dreamer (Visionary) upon evolution, gaining “+35% Attack, +Imaginary Armageddon”.
Explosion Mage evolves into Explosion Mage (Archdemon), “+20% Attack, +Explosion 100%”. It has the shortest range in S tier and the highest cost of the three.
A tier: Armored Crusader, Phoenix, Fishi and Lilia
Armored Crusader is the cheapest unit on the list, and only Mage Slayer beats it on evolved DPS per cost.
Phoenix outranges every other unit in the top two tiers.
Lilia attacks faster than every other unit in the update. The trade-off is the highest placement cost on the list and short range.
B tier: Troy Flame, Word Mage and Sky God
Word Mage brings long range to the B tier.
Sky God evolves into Sky God (Rumble), “+15% Attack, +Skyfall, +Storm Ark”. That is the smallest damage boost from any evolution in Update 21.
C tier: Water Goddess, Iron Sentinel, Paradox and Crush
Water Goddess and Iron Sentinel are hill units, and Water Goddess has the longest range of anything in the update. Update 21 reworks flying, and the update log spells out how hill units fit in:
“Hill units, Hybrid units placed on a hill, and attacks that hit Flying always deal full damage to Flying enemies!”
Soaring enemies in Sky Portals can only be reached by units placed on a hill. That makes both hill units useful in Sky Portals, whatever their DPS rank.
Paradox, Crush and Iron Sentinel do much of their work through abilities, which this ranking does not count, so their low placement reflects raw damage only.
How to get every Update 21 unit
- Rate-up banners: Mage Slayer, Dreamer, Lilia, Iron Sentinel, Paradox
- Lobby board “Featured Units” (“2x Mythic Chance!”): Word Mage, Crush, Lilia
- Sunny Stars, 150 Summer Pearls each: Phoenix, Fishi, Armored Crusader, Water Goddess
- Explosion Mage’s Portal: Explosion Mage
- Sky God’s Portal: Sky God
- Infinity Mansion (this season): Troy Flame
Sky God comes only from Sky God’s Portal, while the four Sunny Stars units cost the same in Summer Pearls. Armored Crusader is the best damage-per-cost pick among them.
