Vegetable (Prince), the Vegeta stand-in added with the Dragon Ball content in Anime Expeditions, looks unremarkable at first glance and hides one of the strongest single-target boss profiles in the game. He is a Mythic, Light, Magical unit whose damage does not come from his base stats. It comes from stacking passives off the units placed around him. Built correctly, he climbs past 242,000 DPS against a single boss.
Quick answer: Run the Unbound trait with his exclusive Royal Gi, add a Magic Book and a Shinigami Sword, then place him beside Prodigy (Rage) and high-crit units so his transformation and crit buffs stack to their caps.

What Vegetable (Prince) does
Vegeta is a specialist, not a generalist. His job is to sit next to allies and convert their attacks into his own scaling. Every regular hit, critical hit, and follow-up attack from nearby units feeds one of his passive meters. Left alone, he is mediocre. Surrounded by the right team, his damage output multiplies quickly and holds against high-HP targets.
The stat jump between his resting form and a fully buffed state shows how much of his power is external. His base damage at level 50 is modest, but a maxed sandbox setup pushes almost every stat far higher.
| Stat | Base (Lv 50) | Maxed (Lv 50, sandbox) |
|---|---|---|
| Damage | 3.21k | 39,674 |
| SPA | 5.3s | 4.6s |
| Range | 22.8 | 37.6 |
| Critical Chance | 9.6% | 79.6% |
| Critical Damage | 100% | 165% |

The trait that matters here is Unbound, which scales best with his stacking passives. His exclusive gear, the Royal Gi, comes from clearing the Mastery stage of East Town – Act 1 on Hard Mode. It adds +9.82% Damage and +5% Range and carries his Royal Rivalry passive.
For the remaining slots, pair the Royal Gi with a Magic Book for the magical damage boost and a Shinigami Sword for crit chance and extra damage. Since so much of Vegeta’s ceiling comes from criticals, magical scaling and crit gear pull the most weight.
| Slot | Piece | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Exclusive | Royal Gi | +9.82% Damage, +5% Range |
| Magical | Magic Book | +19.35% Magical DMG Dealt |
| Crit | Shinigami Sword | +9.64% Critical Chance, +3.8% Damage |

How his passives stack
Vegeta carries three passives, and understanding how they trigger is the whole point of the build. Each one reacts to what allied units do inside his range.
| Passive | Effect |
|---|---|
| Prince’s Pursuit | Enemies that leave his range take 10% of his current Damage. |
| Royal Rivalry | Each regular attack from a nearby ally adds 5% Damage (up to 25%). Each critical adds 5% Critical Chance (up to 25%). Each follow-up adds 5% Critical Damage (up to 15%). |
| Awakened Pride | Starts with 100 Patience. Takedowns in range lower it by 5. If an ally transforms in range, Patience instantly empties and he transforms. |
The Vegetable Transformation triggered by Awakened Pride raises his Damage by 15%, Critical Damage by 35%, and Critical Chance by 20%. Because an ally transforming empties his Patience immediately, you never wait for takedowns to grind the meter down. You force the transformation on demand.

How to confirm the build is working
You know the setup is live when Vegeta visibly enters his Vegetable Transformation right after Prodigy (Rage) transforms on his third upgrade. His crit chance and crit damage values then climb in real time as nearby units land criticals and follow-ups. When the Royal Rivalry stacks reach their limits, his damage plateaus at its peak instead of continuing to rise.
If the transformation never fires, the usual cause is placement. Prodigy (Rage) must be inside Vegeta’s range when it transforms, and his crit feeders must sit close enough to count as nearby units. Against a single high-HP boss, such as a 1M HP target, this configuration is where his output peaks and where he earns his place as a boss killer rather than a wave clearer.
Vegeta sits in the A tier of the current roster, and this build is why he punches above that ranking on the right stages. Keep him paired with Prodigy (Rage) and a Forsaken Goku, feed him crits, and he holds his own against boss content that most Mythics struggle to burn down alone.
