Lightning God is a Secret-rarity unit added to Anime Expeditions in the Summer Siege update, and it sits outside the normal gacha entirely. No banner pull, no spin, no shop purchase will hand it to you. The only route is a craftable Secret portal, and the material chain behind that portal is the real time sink.
Quick answer: Farm Rose Kingdom Act 1 on Infinite for a Sky Ruins Portal, climb the portal tiers to Tier 5, collect four Charged Dust from Tier 5 clears, craft Lightning God’s Portal at the Crafting station, then host that portal yourself and clear all 20 waves for a 100% drop.
Materials needed for Lightning God’s Portal
Everything funnels into one recipe. Before you touch the Crafting station, you need the portal item itself plus four copies of a drop that only comes from the top tier of the Sky Ruins chain.
| Item | Where it comes from | Drop rate |
|---|---|---|
| Sky Ruins Portal (Tier 1) | Rose Kingdom – Act 1, Infinite mode | 2.5% |
| Sky Ruins Portal (Tiers 2–5) | Clearing the previous tier’s portal | Tier drop on completion |
| Charged Dust (need 4) | Sky Ruins Portal Tier 5, Hard Mode | 6.4%, pity at 25 runs |
The pity counter is the important number there. Even with a rough 6.4% roll, 25 Tier 5 clears guarantee a Charged Dust, so the worst case is bounded rather than infinite.

Craft the Lightning God’s Portal

Host the portal yourself: the 100% vs 2% rule
This is the single detail that decides whether the whole grind pays out. The unit’s Obtainment panel splits the reward by role, and only the person who activated the portal is guaranteed anything.
| Role in the run | Lightning God drop chance |
|---|---|
| Host (you activated the portal) | 100% |
| Non-host party member | 2% |
Note: this is the opposite of Sovereign (Djinn), whose portal reward is flagged Non-Host Only. Do not carry that habit over. If you spent the materials, you activate the portal and invite friends in as guests.
Clear the Secret portal on Ancient Temple
Activating Lightning God’s Portal – Secret on Hard Mode drops you into the Ancient Temple map for a 20-wave run. The early waves are the usual setup window, so place and upgrade farm units first, then commit your main damage dealer to a central spot that covers as much of the path as possible.
Sovereign (Djinn) is a strong anchor here because its Djinn Combination passive swaps modes automatically. With no boss in range it runs Lightning Djinn for chained damage across the wave, and the moment a boss walks in it switches to Nine Tailed Fox Djinn for a 50% damage increase plus Freeze application. Checking the Passives & Abilities panel before the run tells you exactly which effects are keyed to boss presence.

From roughly wave 6 onward the run becomes an upgrade race. Click a placed unit to open its panel and push upgrades whenever gold allows, prioritising your central damage dealer and a support like Dark Mage (Sovereign) over spreading gold thinly across new placements.

Wave 20 spawns the Lightning God boss with 1.55 million HP. Leaving Auto Upgrading and Phantom Placing set to Active in the Unit Manager keeps gold converting into upgrades while your attention is on the boss lane.

How to confirm you got Lightning God
Defeating the wave 20 boss ends the run and brings up the victory screen, where the Lightning God unit is listed among your rewards. Back in the lobby it will appear in your unit collection, and the Obtainment panel on the unit card will still show the Host Only 100% and Non-Host Only 2% split as a sanity check.
If the unit is missing after a win, the cause is almost always the same one: you were a guest in someone else’s portal and lost the 2% roll. A failed run does not consume nothing, either, so treat each crafted portal as a single attempt.

Lightning God base stats
| Stat | Value at Level 1 |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Secret |
| Type | Storm / Magical |
| Damage | 368 |
| SPA | 5.8s |
| Range | 12.1 |
Evolve Lightning God into Lightning God (Overcharged)
The base unit is not the finished product. Evolving it unlocks the Stormseeker active ability, which summons a Storm Cloud at a position you pick inside the unit’s range, along with the Voltage Meter passive set that scales Electricity damage by 5% per stack up to 60.
| Evolution material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Sprite (Yellow) | 25 |
| Sprite (Blue) | 25 |
| Sprite (Pink) | 25 |
| Sprite (Rainbow) | 3 |
| Ancient Bell | 1 |
| Gold | 10,000 |
Sprites drop from Challenge stages and can also be crafted out of Sprite (Grey). Ancient Bell is not a drop at all, so build it in the Crafting Menu with 5 Sprite (Yellow), 5 Sprite (Blue), 5 Sprite (Pink), and 10,000 Gold before you start the evolution itself.
The whole chain rewards patience more than skill. The Rose Kingdom farm and the Tier 5 Charged Dust runs are where the hours go, and once you are holding four Charged Dust the rest is a single craft and one clean 20-wave clear with your own name on the portal.
