A full breakdown of all 17 traits, their bonuses, the pity thresholds, and how to reroll them with Trait Crystals.

Traits are permanent passive modifiers you attach to a single unit in Anime Expeditions, and each one changes how that unit performs in battle. Some raise damage, some cut attack timing, others extend range, boost critical hits, or increase the income a farm unit generates. A unit can only hold one trait at a time, so the value of the system comes down to which trait you land and how much you are willing to reroll for it.

Quick answer: Head to the Trait Reroll stand in the Upgrades zone, pick a unit, and spend one Trait Crystal per reroll. Each reroll fully replaces the current trait with a random one, and the four rarest traits are guaranteed once you hit their pity count. Unbound is the strongest at +350% DMG, with a 1,500-reroll pity.

All Anime Expeditions traits, effects, and drop chances

There are 17 traits in total. The common stat traits appear on almost every roll, while the high-end traits stack multiple bonuses and show up far less often. SPA is a unit’s attack timing, so any trait that lowers SPA makes the unit fire more often. RNG is the unit’s attack range. The table below lists every trait from rarest to most common, along with its rarity, single-roll chance, and effect.

Unbound is in a league of its own. Its 350% damage boost dwarfs every other single trait, but at a 0.1% roll chance it is also the hardest to land without leaning on the pity system.

How the pity system works for Mythic traits

The four rarest traits each carry a pity counter. Every reroll you perform counts toward that total, and once you reach the threshold your next roll is replaced with the guaranteed trait. The counter then resets to zero after you receive it, so you cannot bank progress across multiple Mythic traits at once.

TraitPity (rerolls)
Draconic300
Forsaken500
Primordial750
Unbound1,500

Because each reroll costs one Trait Crystal, hitting Unbound’s 1,500-pity guarantee means stockpiling a large reserve of crystals before you commit a single unit to the grind.

How to reroll a trait

Launch Anime Expeditions on Roblox and make sure you have at least one Trait Crystal in your inventory.
Go to the Upgrades zone in the main lobby and find the Trait Reroll stand, which sits between the Crafting and Evolving stands. Press the E key to interact with it and open the reroll menu.
Click the empty box in the middle of the menu to open your unit inventory, then select the unit you want to change.
Hit the green Reroll button. Each press consumes one Trait Crystal and swaps the unit’s current trait for a new random one. You know it worked when the listed trait in the menu updates to the newly rolled result.

Tip: Before you start a long grind, open the Filters button and select the trait you want. You can then hold the Reroll button to auto-roll, and the process stops automatically the moment your chosen trait appears. There is no way to lock or keep a trait, so every roll is all or nothing until you land the one you want.

How to get Trait Crystals

Trait Crystals are the only currency for rerolls, so building a steady supply matters more than the rolling itself. You can earn them through several free routes, and buy them outright if you want to speed things up.

  • Clearing maps, Quests, Star Missions, and Challenges.
  • Redeeming active codes.
  • Claiming daily rewards and gifts from the in-game mailbox.
  • Participating in update events and Tournaments.
  • Staying AFK in the Time Chamber for passive income.
  • Purchasing bundles in the in-game shop with Robux or Gold.

Which traits to prioritize

The gap between top and bottom traits is wide, so save your best rerolls for your strongest units. The four Mythic traits stack multiple bonuses and stay useful across nearly every mode, which makes them worth spending pity to obtain.

  • Unbound is the clear best pick for damage dealers thanks to its 350% damage jump and added range.
  • Primordial suits most DPS units with its balanced damage, attack-speed, and range bonuses.
  • Forsaken is built for units that rely on critical hits.
  • Draconic is the best fit for damage-over-time units because of its +50% DoT boost.
  • Investor belongs on money-farm units, where +25% income helps you scale the rest of your roster faster.
  • Bolt is a strong early-to-mid-game option for units that benefit from lower SPA.

Common Strength, Speed, and Range traits are fine as placeholders while you build your team, but they only touch a single stat. Once you have a late-game unit worth investing in, funnel your Trait Crystals into chasing a Mythic trait rather than spreading rerolls across early characters that you will eventually replace.
