Where every unit and trait lands across DPS, Support, Tank, and Farm roles, plus team comps that clear each mode.

Anime Squadron is a tower defense auto battler on Roblox where your roster and trait choices decide how far you push. Two players with the same units can land in very different places depending on how they build, so unit rank and trait rank carry equal weight. The rankings below cover performance across Story, Raids, and Infinite Mode.

Quick answer: Build around Gometa (SSJ4) first, slot in Woo (Shadow) and Madora (Gunbai) for damage, add Shinks for support and Fastwagon for income, then put the Superior trait on your main carry.

Anime Squadron unit tier list

Rankings run from SS down to D. SS units are the endgame core, S units stay useful from the opening stages onward, A units are role specialists, B and C units carry you early, and D units exist only as starters.

TierUnits
SSGometa (SSJ4), Woo (Shadow), Madora (Gunbai), Shanron (Omega)
SRizzuto (Sage), Vegata (SSJ Full Power), Goki (SSJ4 Full Power), Shinks, Fastwagon
AKarashi (Sharingan), Shield Hero, Rudaus
BBig Beard, Mamosa
CChoi, Tranks, Zaro
DShin, Igras

SS tier: the endgame core

Gometa (SSJ4) anchors every serious endgame team. His damage buffs stack across long fights, and his defense, HP regen, and dodge let him double as a tank in late content. Unlocking him means evolving Goki to Full Power, finishing the linked questline, and collecting Primal Core materials. The grind is heavy, but no other unit pays it back faster.

Woo (Shadow) is the second-best damage dealer. His Shadow Soldier mechanic scales sharply into Infinite Mode and drawn-out fights. He is a Banner Secret with a 20,000 summon pity, so save Gems before chasing him.

Madora (Gunbai) applies steady burn and meteor hits that make him one of the strongest boss killers. You earn him by clearing Ninja Village Squadron Act 4, which gives a clear target to work toward, and he stays relevant from mid-game through endgame.

Shanron (Omega) is the most flexible unit in the roster, able to serve as DPS, tank, or support depending on the build. The downside is the cost, since he is expensive to grind and evolve. Hold off on him until your other SS units are set, and unlock him through GT City Raid Act 4.

S tier: strong from start to finish

Rizzuto (Sage) is dependable damage that holds across most content. He never reaches the SS ceiling, but he works as a placeholder and a real contributor on mid-game teams. Vegata (SSJ Full Power) has a cheap, effective ultimate and is also a required piece of the Gometa evolution, so the Full Power EVO is worth it on both fronts.

Goki (SSJ4 Full Power) is a strong DPS on his own and an EVO component for Gometa, so max him even after you outgrow him. Shinks is the best support available right now, with a damage reduction aura and dodge support that extend your survival on hard stages. Fastwagon is the only dedicated money unit and effectively mandatory, since extra income deploys expensive units sooner and speeds up every run. Max him first when building a farm team.

A tier: specialists worth building

Karashi (Sharingan) is the fastest mythic in the game, ideal for blitzing weaker stages and farming resources. His damage falls behind the top tier eventually, but his speed keeps him useful as filler even late. Shield Hero is the best tank before Gometa, with damage redirection that grows more valuable as stages get harder. He is a Battle Pass unit, so check your pass first. Rudaus grants cooldown reduction to nearby allies, niche but a real DPS gain in the right endgame comps.

B and C tier: early-game workhorses

Big Beard is a solid hybrid, hitting harder than any C unit and tanking well outside endgame. Shield Hero tanks more reliably, but Big Beard deals more damage, so he fits when you lack both. Mamosa heals enough to help newer players survive early, then drops off once incoming damage outscales her output. In C tier, Choi and Tranks are the best early DPS starters, and Zaro fills a slot when nothing better exists. All three get replaced quickly.

D tier: starter units only

Shin and Igras are starters that fall behind almost immediately. Spend no upgrade resources on either.

Best team compositions

Team building balances damage, survivability, and income. These tested lineups cover general clears and the two main unit farms.

GoalLineup
Mid-to-late, all modesGometa (Superior), Karashi (Rebirth), Vegata (Cloner), Fastwagon (any Farm trait). Max Fastwagon first.
Farming Madora (Ninja Village Squadron Act 4)2 DPS plus Shinks and Fastwagon, or swap in Vegata with Cloner.
Farming Shanron (GT City Raid Act 4)Vegata with Cloner can solo it, or use 2 DPS plus Shinks and Fastwagon.

Anime Squadron trait tier list

A trait can deliver more power than a unit upgrade. The right trait on the right unit changes how a whole comp functions.

TraitTierEffect
SuperiorSS+200% DMG, +300% HP, +30% RNG, -15% CD, +1 Spawn Cap
ClonerSS+40% DMG, +60% HP, deploys 2 units instead of 1
EntrepreneurS-40% Cost, +30% DMG, +30% HP
RebirthS+35% DMG, +50% HP, +20% RNG, one-time respawn at 50% HP
LethalA+20% DMG, -10% CD
SniperA+20% DMG, +40% RNG
WealthyA-20% Cost, +10% DMG
Sight, Endure, TankDReroll immediately

Superior leads by a wide margin. The extra placement slot from +1 Spawn Cap is what sets it apart, since an additional unit on the field stacks on top of the huge stat gains. Cloner follows close behind, because doubling a top DPS like Gometa or Woo often beats raw stat stacking. Entrepreneur headlines with cost reduction that drops expensive units onto the field earlier, which matters most in Infinite Mode and timed raids. Rebirth adds a one-time respawn that saves runs on hard stages where losing a key unit ends the attempt.

For A tier, Lethal is the best non-secret DPS trait because cooldown reduction translates directly into damage. Sniper suits units that benefit from attacking earlier in a wave, and Wealthy is a softer Entrepreneur that still helps on costly units. Anything in D tier should be rerolled, since the stat gains are too small for serious content.

Best gear and trait assignments by role

The Omega Gear Set is the best gear in the game, with individual Mythic Pieces as the next option. Match traits to a unit’s job rather than mixing freely, since a Farm trait on a DPS or a Tank trait on Fastwagon wastes the unit’s purpose.

How to farm Trait Rerolls, Gems, Gold, and EXP

Knowing the rankings is only half the work. You also need the resources to act on them.

ResourceBest sources
Trait RerollsRaid Shop, 30-minute challenges with Karashi, or the AFK chamber
GemsRaid Shop, Story 1-1 Hard, 30-minute challenges with Karashi, or the AFK chamber
GoldRaid Shop, Squadron 20 or 40, 30-minute challenges, selling banner summons, or the AFK chamber
EXPRaids, Squadron, or Story 1-1

Tip: The AFK chamber is the most passive income in the game. Set it before you log off and collect Gems, Gold, and Trait Rerolls when you return.

How to unlock the top units

Most SS and S units come from set progression paths rather than banner luck.

UnitHow to unlock
Gometa (SSJ4)EVO Goki to Full Power, finish the questline, then collect Primal Core materials for the Gogeta EVO
Woo (Shadow)Banner Secret with a 20,000 summon pity, so save Gems
Madora (Gunbai)Complete Ninja Village Squadron Act 4
Shanron (Omega)Complete GT City Raid Act 4, then EVO once your other SS units are set
Shield HeroBattle Pass reward

Build toward Gometa as your long-term carry, lean on Madora and Woo for raw damage, and keep Shinks and Fastwagon in nearly every lineup to hold the line and fund deployments. Pair those units with Superior or Cloner, protect your reroll resources until you know a unit is worth investing in, and the early grind turns into a roster that clears every mode.
