Anime Vanguards Wrath Event Guide: Seven Sins and Rewards

How the seven Sins change each run, what Wrath Coins buy, and the fastest way to clear all 15 waves.

How the seven Sins change each run, what Wrath Coins buy, and the fastest way to clear all 15 waves.

The Wrath Event is a 15-wave mode that runs on the Shining Castle map in Anime Vanguards, added with the Wrath’s End update. Before the first wave, you pick one of seven Sins, and that choice applies a run-long buff (and sometimes a restriction) that shapes how you place and upgrade units. You can run it on Normal or Hard, and each clear pays out Wrath Coins for the event shop.

Quick answer: Talk to the History’s Strongest NPC in the lobby, choose the Wrath Event, pick the Envy Sin, and clear 15 waves to earn Wrath Coins and Battle Pass XP.

How to start the Wrath Event

Load into the lobby and walk to the center, near The Doctor NPC and the group beacon tower. Speak to the History’s Strongest NPC. This same NPC also handles other seasonal events, so pick the Wrath Event option specifically.
If you prefer the menu route, open the Event tab on the right side of the screen, go to the Special Event tab, and scroll to the Wrath Event button at the bottom of the list.
Choose Normal or Hard, then press the green Play button on the left to queue in. On Hard, enemies have 10x health, so bring your damage.

The seven Sins and what they do

Each Sin is a card you select before wave one, and its effect stays active for the entire match. Some are pure upsides, others trade a downside for a large multiplier. Read the effect carefully, because a few of them limit which units you can place or upgrade.

SinEffect
WrathHitting an enemy a unit has already hit grants 50% damage for 30 seconds, stacking with no limit.
PrideOnly one unit allowed on the field. It deals 5x damage, gains 50% range, and can be placed anywhere.
GreedThe first non-farm unit you upgrade becomes the only one you can upgrade, but every copy deals 4x damage and can go past max level.
LustSelling a fully upgraded unit refunds its placement cost and leaves a copy that can’t be sold or copied again.
EnvyYour strongest non-farm unit loses 30% damage, and all other non-farm units match that damage.
SlothAll enemies move 30% slower.
GluttonyFarms pay out a second time at the end of every wave.

Parts of the Shining Castle map are no-placement zones and show up highlighted in red while you position units. Units with wide range and area-of-effect attacks work best because you can’t always stand right on the lane.

Fastest clear: the Envy strategy

Envy is the most reliable Sin for fast, repeatable runs. It drops your strongest unit’s damage by 30%, then copies that (still very high) damage number onto every other non-farm unit. The plan is simple: bring one huge damage anchor, then pair it with a fast, full-AoE attacker that inherits the shared number and hits the whole lane.

On the pre-match screen, open Change Lineup and set your team before voting in. This is where you lock in your anchor, your AoE attacker, a cleanser, and your farm units.

Pick a high-damage anchor. Units like Gilgamesh, Cid, Dante, or Guts supply the base attack power that Envy shares across your board. Alocard with Monarch also works as a top-end damage source.

Add Reimu (Shrine Maid) as your carry. Her roughly 0.9-second attack speed and full AoE mean she applies the shared damage across the whole wave, even after the 30% Envy reduction. Include a cleanser such as Bounty Hunter Zoro so the Original boss can’t mind-control your team, plus farm units like Tempest Pirate, Speed Wagon, or Nami for money.

Vote to start by selecting Yes on the ready screen, then place your farms, anchor, Reimu, and cleanser near the spawn tracks as wave one begins.

Max your farms first, then fully upgrade your anchor to raise the damage number Reimu copies. From there, Reimu clears the mid waves and the wave 5 boss with little input.

At wave 15, the boss The Original spawns. If it lands in a different lane, sell and reposition Reimu into the active lane to finish it. With a strong anchor, even Hard mode can end in about two minutes.

Pride, Greed, and Wrath are solid alternatives if you’d rather scale a single unit. Greed pays off best when you already own a standout high-damage unit, since every copy of it hits for 4x and can push past its max level.

Wrath Event rewards per clear

Every completed run gives Battle Pass XP, Wrath Coins, and Gems. Hard mode pays more coins for the added enemy health.

Wrath Event shop and Wrath Coin costs

Spend Wrath Coins in the event shop. The five vanguard Familiars each cost 1,000 Wrath Coins, while shards, crystals, and rerolls are 10 coins each, making them easy to stockpile between runs.

ItemWrath Coins

Iron Helmet1,000
Scrap Bluntsword1,000
Witch’s Staff1,000
Corruption Crystal10

The five Familiars are tied to specific units: the Holy Sword suits Saber (King of Knights), the Iron Helmet fits The Falcon, the Blacksmith’s Hammer turns The Smith (Forged) into a farm, the Scrap Bluntsword unlocks a reworked kit for NotGoodGuy (Free), and the Witch’s Staff adds new abilities to Medea (Witch of Betrayal).

Confirming a successful run

You know the run is complete when the Victory screen appears after wave 15 and displays your rewards, such as the Wrath Coin total, any shards earned, and your Battle Pass XP. Once the coins land in your balance, open the Wrath Event shop and start buying Familiars or shards. Repeat Hard mode with the Envy setup to farm coins quickly toward the 1,000-coin Familiars.
