Apex Legends Season 30 Split 2 Release Date and Time (September 15)

The mid-season patch goes live worldwide at a single moment, with no server downtime and a fresh Ranked split waiting.

The mid-season patch goes live worldwide at a single moment, with no server downtime and a fresh Ranked split waiting.

Status: Confirmed. The Season 30 Split 2 update for Apex Legends rolls out globally on September 15, 2026, at 10AM PT / 5PM UTC. It is a mid-season patch rather than a full season launch, so the headline additions are a new Ranked split, a new battle pass, and balance work on Catalyst, Conduit, and Fuse.

Quick answer: Split 2 unlocks at the same moment everywhere — September 15, 2026, 10AM PT (5PM UTC). Restart the game to install the patch, then queue.

Release time: September 15, 2026 at 10:00AM PT / 5:00PM UTC

No downtime, but you still need to restart

Servers stay up through this one. Mid-season patches do not take the game offline, so matchmaking keeps running while the update ships.

The catch is that a client already running at 10AM PT will not pull the patch on its own. Close the game completely, let your launcher or console download the update, then reopen it. You will know it worked when the new battle pass appears on the main menu and Ranked shows the fresh split. From there, Ranked, Trios, and Wildcard queues are immediately available.

Legend changes in the Split 2 patch

Three Legends are on the balance sheet. None of them get a rework on the scale of Bloodhound’s overhaul from the start of Season 30, but Catalyst in particular comes out of this looking much stronger. Exact numbers arrive with the full patch notes, which are due September 14 — a day ahead of the update.

Catalyst

Piercing Spikes get a shorter cooldown, and dropping a trap near a door now reinforces and rebuilds that door automatically. Her tactical also strips the durability of abilities placed by an enemy Catalyst. Dark Veil activates faster and, crucially, no longer blinds your own teammates as they pass through it. Her upgrade tree is reshuffled too, with a new Level 3 option that adds an extra trap, raises Piercing Spikes damage, and shrinks the traps themselves.

Conduit

Energy Barricade deploys faster, spawns higher to cover more vertical space, and can be placed in a vertical line instead of a horizontal one — useful around buildings and broken terrain. Her tactical picks up a visual indicator showing how far along the temporary shield regeneration is.

Her Level 2 perks are the interesting part. Concurrency lets her fire a second ultimate within 10 seconds of the first, at the cost of fewer jammers. The alternative, Jammed Up, widens the jammers’ radius and interferes with enemy HUDs.

Fuse

Knuckle Jumper moves into Fuse’s base kit alongside explosive resistance, so he can start launching himself off his own Knuckle Cluster explosions the moment he lands. The perk’s travel distance and cooldown are tuned down to account for that. His ultimate also deploys faster, and a new Level 3 upgrade offers either a bigger Knuckle Cluster blast radius or a tactical that sticks to enemies with a reduced cooldown.

Weapon and Trident adjustments

Respawn is being deliberately careful with guns here. The meta is still settling after Season 30 introduced Corrupted Attachments, reworked Energy ammo, and nerfed the R-99, Alternator, RE-45, and Hemlok, so Split 2 sticks to targeted buffs instead of another shake-up.

  • Triple Take — buffed to sit closer to others in its class
  • Bocek Compound Bow — buffed
  • Charge Rifle — buffed
  • Trident — receiving changes

Specific damage and handling values are not public until the full notes land, so treat the list above as the scope of the changes rather than the numbers behind them.

How long Split 2 runs

Season 30, Marked, began on August 4, 2026, which puts Split 2 in charge of the back half of the season. Respawn has not confirmed an end date, but Apex seasons average roughly three months, so Season 31 would be expected to arrive in early November. Treat that as an estimate rather than a fixed date.

If you are chasing a Ranked placement before the split reset, the window closes at the same moment Split 2 opens. Once the patch is installed, the new split and its battle pass start immediately — no separate rollout, no waiting on a regional unlock.
