Update 1.3.4 of Backrooms Morphs 2 adds four playable skins, and none of them are bought or unlocked by playtime. Each one is attached to a small yellow trophy hidden somewhere in the map, and you unlock it by physically reaching the trophy and touching it. Two sit in the starting maze area, and two are hidden behind the door marked “PICK THE RIGHT ONE!”.
Quick answer: Walk into each of the four yellow trophies until the SKIN UNLOCKED banner appears, then open the Morphs menu on the left side of the screen and hit Activate on the skin you want to wear.
How morph unlocks work in Backrooms Morphs 2
The unlock condition is contact, not a quest step. Touching a trophy triggers a SKIN UNLOCKED message and permanently adds that morph to your list. There is no timer and no purchase step in between.
Two things make the routes longer than they look. Some trophies are gated behind a tool you have to pick up first, such as the Plank, and hostile entities patrol the corridors between you and the pickup. The map also gives you a Teleport menu with a Spawn option, so you can reset your position instead of walking back through the maze after each unlock.
All 4 Update 1.3.4 morph locations
| Morph | Trophy location | Needed first |
|---|---|---|
| Crying white figure | Small side room next to the “TURTLE” wall drawing in the starting maze | Nothing |
| Bald man with a stick | Across the gap in the hallway with the exit sign | The Plank tool from the upstairs room |
| White figure with black eyes | Corner of the dark hallway at the top of the ladder | Access through the “PICK THE RIGHT ONE!” door |
| White figure with crown and mustache | Yellow corridors under the flooded room, tucked behind a wall | The drop hole in the flooded room |

Confirming the unlock and equipping a morph
A trophy has registered when the SKIN UNLOCKED message flashes on screen and the trophy disappears. If neither happens, you did not make contact with it.
To wear one, open the Morphs button on the left menu and look under the Update 1.3.4 group. Select the skin and press Activate, and your character model swaps on the spot. All four should be listed there once you have collected every trophy.
Why a trophy pickup fails
The failures on this route are almost always positional rather than technical.
- You tried to jump the exit-sign hallway gap without the Plank. That trophy is unreachable until the plank is placed.
- You skipped the lever in the maze, which is part of opening the path upstairs to the plank room.
- You ran past the fourth trophy. It sits behind a wall in the lower corridors, not in the open.
- An entity such as the Floppa caught you mid-route and sent you back before you reached the pickup.
Tip: teleport to Spawn between attempts instead of backtracking. It is faster and it avoids the patrolled corridors entirely.
Other trophy morphs in the same map
Four more skins use the same trophy system, and they need tools rather than routes. For Blue Very Scary, climb the vent ladder from the lobby, press the green button to raise the rolling gate, cross the yellow hallway through the red door frame, collect the Sledge_Hammer, then take the Crowbar from the table in the next room. Use the crowbar on the barred doorway and grab the trophy in the room with the coloured blocks.
Green Life Adult reuses that sledgehammer. Climb the vent again, cross the yellow Backrooms area into the wooden door room, break the crawlspace wall, and take the trophy sitting on top of the coloured blocks.
Red Dude starts with the Box tool, which is inside a small alcove you have to crawl into while avoiding the roaming monsters. Teleport to OldHallway, dive down through the underwater pipe, follow the black arrows across the yellow corridors and raised platforms, and pick up the trophy on the floor near the red switch.
Purple Mutant is the payoff for keeping the Box. Set it down on the red floor button to lower the barrier, then walk into the trophy behind it.
Every unlock is saved to your account, so you only need to run each route once. The game’s description confirms more morphs are planned, and trophies remain the way they are handed out.
