Big Walk: How to Solve the 3259, 1883 and 3231, 1976 Coordinates Puzzle

Near the Green Tower in Big Walk you’ll find a wooden sign paired with a portable GPS box. The sign lists two sets of numbers, 3259, 1883 and 3231, 1976, and each set points to a specific spot on the island. One marks a locked box holding a red gourd, and the other marks the switch that opens it.

Quick answer: Read the numbers as map coordinates (top is latitude, bottom is longitude). Send one player to the switch hidden behind a rock near the green shed on the northeastern corner of the map, and keep the second player at the gourd box on the boulder. Press the switch while your teammate stands by the box to release the gourd.

What you need before starting

This is a two-part, timed puzzle, so you cannot finish it alone. You need at least one teammate because the box and the switch sit apart, and both must be handled at the same time. A group with more players may see the puzzle shift slightly, so plan roles before you split up.

How the coordinates work

The GPS box shows your live position when you carry it in front of the wooden sign. The top number is your current latitude and the bottom number is your current longitude. Match those readings to the two sets printed on the sign, and you’ll walk yourself to each target instead of guessing.

The first set, 3259, 1883, leads to the locked gourd box. The second set, 3231, 1976, leads to the switch that unlocks it. Both destinations sit close together near the big green bridge on the northeastern corner of the map.

Find the gourd box and the switch

Follow the first set of coordinates toward the big green bridge on the northeastern corner of the map. This whole area sits near a small river, so use the water and the bridge as landmarks while you close in.

Locate the locked chest holding the red gourd. It rests on top of a large boulder beside the little river, and you’ll know you’re in the right place when you can see a large green shed in the background.

Have one player stay right at the gourd box. This player waits and does nothing yet, since the box only opens for a short window once the switch is triggered.

Send the second player to the switch, which is not far away. It sits behind a rock closer to the green shed, so circle toward the shed and check the rocks until you spot it.

Press the switch while your teammate stands ready at the box. Because the puzzle is timed, both actions have to line up, so call out when you’re in position before anyone activates anything.

Confirm the gourd is released

When the switch is pressed with a teammate waiting at the box, the locked chest opens and the red gourd becomes available to grab. The player stationed at the box should pick it up immediately during that open window.

If the box does not open, the most common cause is timing. Nobody is stationed at the box when the switch fires, or the two players act out of sync. Reset positions, keep one person planted at the gourd box, and press the switch only once your teammate confirms they’re standing beside it.
