The Dark Blade is a mythical-rarity sword in Blox Fruits and one of the few weapons that cannot be grinded, dropped, or found in a chest. You buy it, trade for it, or receive it as a gift, then evolve it into two later forms. The base sword and its upgrades each have their own separate requirements.

How to get the base Dark Blade
The Dark Blade is tied to a gamepass, which is why it is the only sword in the game that can be stored and traded. It is available in all three seas, so there is no level gate on the base weapon once you own the pass. There are three ways to get it.

The sword was originally named “Yoru” before it was renamed. It uses your Sword stat for damage, and mastery increases every time you land a hit.

Both skills chain into each other, and the stun pairs well with fruits like Ice, Dark, or Lightning. The blade has no mobility moves, so a held Z-move can be punished by fast teleport users.
Unlock Dark Blade V2 with “The Son Quest”
Dark Blade V2 deals 30% more damage than the base sword. To start, you must already own the standard Dark Blade and be at least Level 350. The upgrade is handled by the Robotmega NPC through a multi-step mission.

Unlock Dark Blade V3 (Chess Yoru)
The V3, also called Chess Yoru or the White/Slayer Dark Blade, is a purely cosmetic reskin. It adds no stat boost over V2, but it is extremely rare. Only one player per server can hold the V3 at a time, so if someone on your server already has it, you need to switch servers.
Requirements before you start
- Own the Dark Blade V2 and have reached the Second Sea.
- Evolve every race to V3, with the exception of Ghoul and Cyborg.
- You and a friend each need a Fist of Darkness. It drops from Sea Beasts or chests, and the rate is very low.
Note: Do not die after picking up a Fist of Darkness. The item is lost on death, and you will have to grind for another one.
The V3 unlock steps
If the button does nothing, the most common causes are that the raid was not started at the exact time you pressed it, that a race is still not at V3, or that another player on the server already holds the V3. Confirm the requirements and try on a fresh server.
With the base sword bought, V2 grants the only real power increase, so treat it as the priority upgrade and save V3 for the flex once you have the races and a raid partner lined up.
