The Upper Crust is one of the zones you explore on Providence Island in Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort, and it hides a tidy set of pickups that are easy to leave behind if you blow through the area on your way to a Tediore manager fight. Collectible hunting here works the same way it does elsewhere in Borderlands 4, with one wrinkle: part of the zone stays sealed off until you take on a specific side mission.

Quick answer: The Upper Crust holds 15 collectibles — 10 ECHO Logs, 1 Tediore Gun, and 4 Lieutenant Harmony logs. Pick up “The Relieving of the Guard” from Private Hatch in Pyroclast Field before you start sweeping, because that side mission opens the areas some of them sit in.

The Upper Crust collectible count

Three collectible types appear in this zone. ECHO Logs make up the bulk of them, the Tediore Gun is a single weapon pickup, and the Lieutenant Harmony logs are their own tracked category tied to the DLC’s villain.

Unlock requirement: The Relieving of the Guard

Some of the buildings and platforms that hold these pickups are gated behind mission progress, so a cold sweep of the map will leave you short no matter how carefully you explore. The side mission that opens them is “The Relieving of the Guard,” and you start it in Pyroclast Field.

Travel to Pyroclast Field and open your map to find the side mission marker for “The Relieving of the Guard.” It sits in the same region, so there is no need to cross back to Kairos proper.
Speak to Private Hatch and accept the quest. Accepting it is what matters for access, so grab it as soon as you see the marker rather than saving it for later.
Work through the mission objectives until the gated parts of The Upper Crust are reachable, then double back for anything you skipped. Nothing here is missable, and side missions can be replayed from the mission replay menu if you need another pass.

Reaching Providence Island if you have not started the DLC

The Upper Crust only exists if you own Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort, which arrived alongside the Version 1.10 update on September 10, 2026 for $19.99. There are two ways in.

  • On an existing character, finish the fourth main story mission, “A Lot to Process,” then pick up the starting mission “The Skag and the Robot” at the Bones of Sanctuary in Heart of the Mountain, in the Terminus Range.
  • Or create a new level 13+ playable Vault Hunter and jump straight into the DLC content.

Providence is built around verticality, and the Ziprunner grapple lets you hook onto ziplines to cross the jungle canopy. That matters for collecting, because several pickups sit on raised platforms rather than at ground level.

Tracking collectible progress on the map

You do not need to count pickups by hand. Hover over a region on the map and press Square on PS5, X on Xbox, or F on PC to see how many collectibles you have found there. Pressing D-Pad Right on console or B on PC filters the map down to specific icon types, which is the fastest way to isolate ECHO Logs from everything else.

Icons only appear once you have walked near them. Blue markers are collectibles you have not picked up yet, and green markers are ones you already have. If a corner of The Upper Crust looks empty on your map, it usually means you have not been close enough to reveal it, not that it is bare.

ECHO Log locations in The Upper Crust

ECHO Logs are picked up with a single interact prompt, and the log’s name appears on screen as you grab it, which is the quickest way to confirm you have not doubled back to one you already own. “Deadframe Revision Log #2” is one of the Providence entries you will run into here.

Two of the ten are worth calling out because they are easy to walk past. The first, “Outgoing Comm: Crimson Raiders,” sits on a wooden platform rather than on the jungle floor, so approach it from above or use the surrounding structure to climb. The second, “Found Creature #1,” is indoors, resting on a table next to a Tediore chest — the chest is the landmark to look for, since the log itself blends into the clutter.

The Tediore Gun and Lieutenant Harmony logs

The Tediore Gun is a one-off pickup in the zone and counts separately from ECHO Logs on your regional tally, so clearing every log will still leave you one short until you grab it. The four Lieutenant Harmony logs are their own category too, feeding the DLC’s story about the Tediore expedition and the five elite managers running it.

Note: Because these three types are tracked independently, the map filter is your friend. Cycle through each icon type one at a time rather than eyeballing the whole zone at once.

How to confirm The Upper Crust is fully cleared

Open the map, hover over The Upper Crust, and check the regional counter. When every collectible icon in the zone shows green and the counter matches the totals above, the area is done. If your number is stuck below that, there are only a few likely reasons.

  • You have not accepted or progressed “The Relieving of the Guard,” so the gated areas are still sealed.
  • You have not walked close enough to a pickup for its icon to appear, leaving a gap that looks like empty map.
  • The missing pickup is a Tediore Gun or Lieutenant Harmony log, not an ECHO Log, and your map filter is hiding it.

The practical approach is to finish the region’s missions and activities first, grabbing whatever you stumble across, then come back afterward for a dedicated cleanup run. Free roam stays open after the story, so a missed log in The Upper Crust is never a lost one.
