A towering stone entrance marked by a green glow blocks the way to the Catacombs until you obtain three keys. Defeat three separate bosses to get them, then return to the entrance and fit each key into it. Installing the final gem opens the route into the Catacombs of Paris.

The three keys that open the gate
All three keys share the same item description: “One of three keys needed to open the sealed door to the Catacombs.” Each one names the boss you defeat to earn it, and each is a differently colored gem.
| Key | Boss you defeat | Gem color |
|---|---|---|
| The Fallen | Purple | |
| Medusa | Green-blue | |
| Joan of Arc | Orange |
The Fallen’s Key
The Fallen is the first boss, fought in the Gate to the Catacombs district of Paris Streets. Beat him and you receive The Fallen’s Key, a purple gem whose item card reads: “One of three keys needed to open the sealed door to the Catacombs. Obtained by defeating The Fallen.”

After you press Continue, the banner “NEW OBJECTIVE / UNLOCK THE GATE TO THE CATACOMBS” appears over the tarot cards. The next card shown is The Prophetess, the boss whose key you need next.

Try the sealed gate with the key in hand and Rose says: “I need two other keys to open the gate. They should be held by two other guardians.” One key is not enough on its own. Move on to the next boss.

The Prophetess’s Key
Reach the Serpents’ Lair by way of the Ancient Sewers, which you can enter using the mirror at Holy Innocents’ Cemetery. Continue from there to face Medusa in the Ossuary of the Innocents. Her defeat awards The Prophetess’s Key, a green-blue gem. Inserting the gem illuminates a section of the seal, and The Fallen informs you that another key is needed.

The Warrior’s Key
Joan of Arc is fought on the Roof of the Tower in Paris Streets. Beating her rewards The Warrior’s Key, an orange gem. After this fight, the objective line on the map changes to “GET TO THE GATE OF THE CATACOMBS”, pointing you back toward the sealed door.

In the Paris Streets map, the gate has its own district, Gate to the Catacombs, in the lower left beside the Abandoned Sewers. Its map marker says “GATE TO THE CATACOMBS”. During the key hunt, the objective line in the top right displays “UNLOCK THE GATE TO THE CATACOMBS”. If you lose your bearings, open the Abandoned Sewers sub-area map and follow the marker.
Opening the gate also needs Holy Light, the parry Joan of Arc gives Rose along with The Warrior’s Key, so you will have it by the time the third key is in. Walk right up to the door and you will see the prompt “GATE TO THE CATACOMBS / INTERACT [R1]” (PC: E).

How to place the keys and open the gate

What happens when the last key goes in

- Rose: “Time to find out if Medusa is telling the truth about reviving Dracula.”
- The Fallen: “Rose, wait.” “If someone or something means to resurrect Dracula, it is likely more powerful than you, even with our help.” “Perhaps you ought to find your father.”
- Rose: “No. I told Father I could handle this myself.”
- Joan: “Be careful, young warrior. Victory will only be yours if your heart is pure and just.”
- Medusa: “Hehehehe, yes! Nothing will stop you! The trap awaits…”
- Rose: “It’s not a trap, Medusa. It’s a mystery to solve. And I will solve it.”

After the gate opens
The first room past the open door is the Catacomb Entrance, inside the Catacombs of Paris. The map objective then updates to “STOP THE RESURRECTION OF DRACULA”, which is your cue that the door is behind you and the next stretch has begun.
