The Twilight Gem is a relic in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse that sits inside a treasure chest in the Paris Streets region. It rewards spellcasting by raising Rose’s damage right after she fires off an Arcana, which makes it an early pickup worth detouring for during the opening chapter.
Quick answer: The Twilight Gem is in a chest on the western side of the Central Sewer Drain in Paris Streets, at the end of a short platforming and spiked-hazard challenge.
Twilight Gem effect and description
The relic responds to Rose’s magic. Whenever she uses an Arcana spell, her damage rises by 30% for 3 seconds. Its card describes a gem that once adorned the rings of the greatest mages; its shine has faded, but its power remains.

The chest is on a stone ledge in the Central Sewer Drain, with a spiked pit floor to the left and a waterfall beside a barred sewer grate on the right. Reach it by completing the chamber’s obstacle course: cross the ground covered in spikes and rotating saw-blade wheels, then use aerial dashes and grapple anchors to climb up.
How to reach the Twilight Gem
Two approaches lead to the chamber. Both end at the same ledge on the western side of the Central Sewer Drain, so pick whichever Mirror of Life you already have unlocked.
Route 1: From the Central Sewer Drain Mirror of Life

Route 2: Descending from the Prison Tower
If you have the Prison Tower Mirror of Life unlocked above, travel there instead and drop down. Descend south through the vertical shafts into the Central Sewer Drain, then head left into the chest chamber.

Open the chest and equip the relic
Reach the chest on the upper ledge and open it to collect the Twilight Gem. The relics tutorial prompt appears the first time, explaining the relic slots. Slot the Twilight Gem into the first open relic slot to apply its damage bonus.

You know it worked when the item popup shows the Twilight Gem card with its stats and the “Hold to Equip” prompt, and the relic fills one of your equipment slots. From there, cast a spell in combat and your next three seconds of attacks land for 30% extra damage.
