Alongside that, the update pours in dozens of new outfits and armor pieces, including gear worn by bosses, plus a big expansion of what you can dye and a long run of bug fixes. It rolled out on July 3, 2026, at 03:00 UTC.

Oongka and Damiane can now enter the Abyss
The largest gameplay change opens the Abyss to Oongka and Damiane, who previously could not go in. Because of this, the Memory Fragment locations for several rematchable bosses have moved. The affected bosses are Corrupted Caliburn, Goyen, Draven the Crowcaller, and Clockwork White Horn.
New equipment, including boss outfits
Kliff and Oongka get 39 new pieces of equipment, mixing full boss outfits with fresh armor and headgear. Damiane receives 8 more pieces of armor. All of it can be obtained through quests, achievements, shops, and other sources.
| Set or category | Pieces | Available to |
|---|---|---|
| Tarandus the Ashen outfit | 5 | Kliff / Oongka |
| Unyielding Hero outfit | 5 | Kliff / Oongka |
| Knight of Carnage outfit | 5 | Kliff / Oongka |
| Martial Monk outfit | 3 | Kliff / Oongka |
| Grand general of Demeniss outfit | 2 | Kliff / Oongka |

Oongka can now wear most outfits that were already available to Kliff. Both Kliff and Oongka can also equip Kuku gear, and the new pieces cover several damage types and mobility options.
- Kuku Lightning-Resistant Armor
- Kuku Flame-Resistant Armor
- Kuku Ice-Resistant Armor
- Kuku Breeze-Step Boots
- Kuku Rishi’s Boots
- Kuku Marni Laser Helm
New crafting recipes cover Lightning Bolt Plate Armor, Scorchflame Plate Armor, and Frostcursed Plate Armor, along with recipes for four types of carpets that you can buy from shops.
Other new additions and quality-of-life options
A handful of smaller additions change how you play day to day. Summoned pets now rest with your character when you sleep in a bed. A new “Hunter’s Sigil” item lets a bird pet retrieve prey and gatherable items that match its specialty when equipped.
You can also hide the interface for a cleaner view. A “Hide Minimap and Status” option now sits under Settings > Others > Gameplay, which removes the minimap and status HUD. Several enemies, including the Flame Knight, Wyvernflames, Savage Fang, and Goldenscale Bandits, gained new special attacks.
Expanded dyeing and content fixes
Dye support grows in two ways. Certain disguise outfits that could not be dyed before now accept dye, and most weapons and secondary weapons can now be dyed as well. In the Dye interface, items that cannot be dyed can no longer be selected, which cuts down on wasted clicks.
Content fixes clear up several quest and world problems. Notable changes include the Gate to Advancement’s teleporter now working without a Visione equipped, gathering yielding up to three fireflies from a firefly colony, and Oongka puzzles being completable with Scatter Shot.
- Fixed rowboats briefly sinking underwater when used.
- Fixed the wagon disappearing if destroyed during “A Sack of Pepper.”
- Fixed Moren vanishing when combat began after tracking Moren, the Mistwood Huntmaster.
- Fixed Duane being unable to travel on horseback during “Skilled in Archery.”
- Fixed the auto-tracked target switching to another quest in certain situations.
- Fixed Contribution increasing abnormally in certain situations.
Combat, controls, and action changes
Several combat tweaks smooth out how weapons behave. Muskets and pistols can now be fired while sliding, and using Axiom Force during a soft lock-on immediately targets the enemy. Jump attacks from high places no longer briefly freeze the character.
Each playable character also picks up specific fixes. The list below covers the most direct control and action corrections.
- [Damiane] Smiting Strike – Proficiency now works while a spear is equipped.
- [Damiane] Lightning Strike motion fixed, and element-imbued Smiting Strike now activates at the correct timing with Groundsurge Abyss Gear.
- [Oongka] Aerial Grapple now works with the Kuku Rocket Pack, targets can be designated while flying, and finishing blows no longer miss with a Greathammer.
- Counter Stance can no longer be used while a flag is equipped.
- Fixed the character attacking barehanded after obtaining the Twilight Messenger’s weapon.
- Fixed summoning Blackstar during Axiom Force locking out controls other than movement and jumping.
Interface, graphics, and stability fixes
Stability work targets crashes and load times. The update fixes occasional crashes when opening the map and during boss rematches, and it addresses game loading that sometimes took longer than usual. On PS5, certain cutscenes that occasionally stuttered are fixed.
Interface changes are small but useful. The inventory now closes when you use an elixir, only the currently tracked quest appears on the minimap border, and Trust notifications now show correctly in the notification history. A missing Recoverable item alert tied to Wyvern eggs is fixed as well.
Housing and world fixes
Housing mode receives multiple corrections. Wells now line up properly when relocated, the well bucket appears when placing a well in certain situations, and controls no longer lock up after placing some installations. Installations that drifted to unintended spots when rotated or removed are fixed too.
Out in the world, monsters that failed to appear in the Sovereign Wastes region now spawn correctly, and the Liberation Gauge no longer incorrectly reads 30% during the Courts of Judgment quest. Localization quality was improved across all languages, with various text errors corrected.
How to confirm the update installed
Launch the game after your platform finishes downloading, and check the version number shown in-game. If it reads 1.13.00, the update is applied and the new Abyss access, equipment, and dye options will be available. On Steam, the client downloads the update automatically the next time you open it. Crimson Desert is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
