Embersand Mine is a Lost Rites proving ground, a trial dungeon that belongs to the Dark Arisen expansion. Its entrance sits about 100 m in a straight line from the Riftstone of Evenfall, and the Proving Ground Compass leads you to it. You cannot enter while carrying a grimoire or an enchanted weapon. You also cannot have any weapon skill equipped that grants fire, ice, lightning or holy archmagicks, so swap those out before you arrive.
