The Sky Specter Helmet is a level 45 Ranger headpiece in Enshrouded. It adds melee critical chance and a large backstab bonus. You can craft it at the Hunter, but you can also take a copy from a chest in the Small Ancient Dungeon. That chest sits in a canyon in the Shroud, below the ridges between the Ancient Gate and Lake Luma. The dungeon run takes a few minutes. It needs a bow or another ranged option for one guard, and enough Sparks to open the final door.
Quick answer: Glide from the ridges northeast of the Ancient Gate into the Shroud canyon. Enter the Small Ancient Dungeon, pull the wall lever, and spend 10 Sparks on the vault door. The helmet is in the chest inside.
What you need before the Small Ancient Dungeon
The run is short, but a few things can stop you partway through. Sort these out before you leave base:
- At least 10 Sparks in your inventory. The vault door will not open without them.
- A glider, because the route drops off a high cliff into the canyon.
- A bow or other ranged attack for the floating guardian at the entrance.
- A character at level 45 if you want to wear the helmet right away.

Getting through the Small Ancient Dungeon to the vault

REQUIRED: Spark and shows how many you hold against the 10 needed. Use the item to spend the Sparks and open the door.Confirming you have the Sky Specter Helmet
The chest shows a Take All (2) prompt. The two entries are a stack of Gold Coins and the Sky Specter Helmet. Once you take them, the helmet shows up in your backpack as equippable head armor. Equip it on the character sheet, and your Physical and Magical Armor values go up right away.

Chest copies can roll a different rarity than the crafted version. Check the item card for its rarity and how many upgrade slots it has.
Sky Specter Helmet stats and upgrades
These are the base values for the level 45 helmet:
| Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
| Slot / class | Head / Ranger |
| Item level | 45 |
| Physical Armor | 49 |
| Magical Armor | 49 |
| Melee Critical Strike Chance | 14% |
| Backstab Damage | 28% |
| Frost Resistance | 2 |
| Wet Duration Reduction | 120 s |
Each upgrade at the Blacksmith raises the item level by one and adds an enhancement. The enhancements arrive in this order: Piercing Armor, Cutting Armor, a level of Backstab Mastery, and then 18 Stamina Regeneration. How many of these you can unlock depends on the copy’s rarity.
Crafting the Sky Specter Helmet at the Hunter instead
If you’d rather skip the dungeon, the Hunter can craft a Rare Sky Specter Helmet. The recipe unlocks once your Flame reaches level 9, and you have to craft it under a roof. It uses Sparkling Dust, Blue Fabric, Magma Gel and Ember Carapace. Ember Carapace drops from enemies in Cinder’s Cradle. Sparkling Dust is ground at the Mill and needs Celestium Ore from Cinder’s Cradle along with Mother-Of-Pearl from underwater in Veilwater Basin. Blue Fabric is made at the Loom from Fabric and Indigo Plant, which grows in Revelwood.
Sky Specter set pieces and stats
The helmet is one of five Sky Specter pieces. All five are Rare, item level 45, Ranger gear crafted by the Hunter after Flame level 9.
| Piece | Armor (Phys / Mag) | Perks | Key stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Helmet | 49 / 49 | Backstab Mastery 1, Stamina Regeneration 18 | Backstab Damage 28%, Melee Crit 14% |
| Chest | 98 / 98 | Health 120, Rebound 1, Veiled Vigor 1 | Mana 84, Stamina 84 |
| Gloves | 28 / 28 | Stamina 24, Dagger Mastery 1 | Dagger Damage 32%, Backstab Damage 14% |
| Pants | 49 / 49 | Stamina 24, Cutthroat 1, Veiled Vigor 1 | Mana 63, Sneak Speed 30% |
| Boots | 28 / 28 | Thrust 1, Silent Stride 1, Health Regeneration 18 | Stamina Regeneration 21, Mana Regeneration 14 |
The pieces also differ on frost and wet protection. The chest gives Frost Resistance 4 and 180 seconds of Wet Duration Reduction. The helmet, pants and boots each give Frost Resistance 2. The helmet and pants cut wet duration by 120 seconds. The gloves give Frost Resistance 1, and the gloves and boots each cut wet duration by 90 seconds. Together, the backstab and sneak bonuses on the helmet, gloves and pants work best when you attack enemies from behind.
