F2P Aventurine – Waveflair Endgame Clears in Honkai: Star Rail (E0S0)

What an E0 Waveflair running a 4-star light cone actually clears in Pure Fiction, Apocalyptic Shadow, and Memory of Chaos.

What an E0 Waveflair running a 4-star light cone actually clears in Pure Fiction, Apocalyptic Shadow, and Memory of Chaos.

Aventurine – Waveflair is a 5-star Quantum unit on the Path of Elation, and unlike his Preservation version, he is a damage dealer built around Speed and repeated team attacks. The question most players care about is whether he holds up without his signature light cone or any Eidolons. He does.

Quick answer: At E0S0 with a 4-star light cone, Waveflair clears Pure Fiction, Apocalyptic Shadow, and Memory of Chaos, as long as his teammates attack frequently and he sits near 160 SPD.

E0S0 endgame results across all three modes

Three separate runs on two different accounts cover the full endgame rotation. None of them used his signature light cone, and neither Waveflair was past Eidolon 0.

Memory of ChaosStormcleanse (XII), Node 1Waveflair, Ashveil, Mortenax Blade, Lingsha1-cycle clear vs Sam

The Pure Fiction node ran with the Smack Talk buff, and the Apocalyptic Shadow fight was against Sparkycon in the Center of Attention phase. The Memory of Chaos run against Stellaron Hunter: Sam finished in exactly one cycle, which is the clearest signal here — a one-cycle boss kill at E0 with a free light cone is not a marginal clear.

Why Fervor carries the E0 build

Waveflair’s damage does not come from his own turns. It comes from Fervor, a stack he gains whenever anyone on the team attacks, and Punchline, which scales his Elation damage. That means his output is driven by how often your other three characters act, not by how much you spent on him.

  • Each ally attack gives 1 Fervor and 1 Punchline, with Fervor capped at 30.
  • At 10 Fervor, he automatically fires Cheers! To the Blazing Summer — an AoE hit plus 10 random bounces.
  • That auto-cast upgrades his next Elation Skill during an Aha Instant into All In! To the Blazing Summer.
  • All In! consumes every Fervor stack and adds one extra 15% Elation hit per stack consumed.
  • His Skill grants 2 Punchline and 4 Fervor; his Ultimate grants 5 Punchline, 8 Fervor, and 25% SPD for 3 turns.

His traces do the rest of the heavy lifting for free. With any other Elation character on the team, his Elation goes up by 100% flat. If he is the only Elation unit, ally attacks instead feed him extra Certified Banger, Punchline, and +25 SPD on Aha. He also has a permanent 48% CRIT DMG trace that stacks another 48% every time an ally uses a Basic ATK, Skill, Ultimate, or follow-up, up to six stacks.

Both build routes are automatic. You do not toggle anything — the game checks whether another Elation unit is on the team when the fight starts.

Stat targets: 160 SPD first, CRIT Rate second

Speed is not a comfort stat on Waveflair, it is a damage stat. Hitting 160 SPD activates a trace that grants 30% Elation, then adds another 1% for every point of SPD above 160, counting up to 200 excess points. Recommended endgame stats land around 160+ SPD, 90–100% CRIT Rate in combat, and 120–160% CRIT DMG.

Here is what the two clearing accounts were actually running, and neither is a perfect sheet.

AccountLight coneSPDCRIT Rate / DMG
Trailblaze Lv. 70Mushy Shroomy’s Adventures (S5)15690.1% / 84.1%
Trailblaze Lv. 90A Little Getaway (S2)14192.0% / 132.0%

Both builds are under the 160 SPD threshold, and both cleared. Waveflair’s own Ultimate adds 25% SPD for three turns, and the solo-Elation trace hands Aha another 25 SPD, so an in-combat build can cross the line even when the profile sheet does not. Treat 160 as the number you build toward on relics, not a hard gate on whether he functions.

Best free-to-play light cones for Waveflair

Summer Rides the Surf is his signature and sits at the top at roughly 120% relative damage, thanks to 18% CRIT Rate, an SPD buff on Elation Skill use, an Elation buff for alternating skills, and a Skill Point refund. Everything below is what you can reach without pulling a limited cone.

Light coneSuperimpositionRelative damage
Until the Flowers Bloom AgainS1109%
Today’s Good LuckS5107%
A Little GetawayS5106%
Welcome to the Cosmic CityS1102%
Dazzled by a Flowery WorldS1102%
Mushy Shroomy’s AdventuresS5100%

The gap between the free floor and the signature is about 20%, which is why a maxed Mushy Shroomy’s Adventures still clears endgame content. Today’s Good Luck comes from the Battle Pass and gives CRIT Rate plus stacking Elation, which helps if your relic CRIT Rate rolls are thin. Welcome to the Cosmic City gives SPD and DEF ignore, but its Punchline bonus never triggers because Waveflair does not cast his Ultimate on himself.

Relics, ornaments, and main stats

Four-piece Ever-Glorious Magical Girl is the target set. It gives 16% CRIT DMG and makes his Elation damage ignore 10% of enemy DEF, climbing another 1% for every 5 accumulated Punchline up to 10 stacks. Since Punchline piles up constantly from ally attacks, that ceiling is easy to reach in a normal fight.

Genius of Brilliant Stars is the fallback if your Elation pieces are bad. It applies DEF ignore to all of his damage rather than just Elation damage, but its 2-piece Quantum DMG bonus does nothing for Elation hits, which make up most of his profile. For the Planar set, Punklorde Stage Zero is the pick, giving 8% Elation and CRIT DMG spikes at 40% and 80% Elation.

  • Body: CRIT Rate (or CRIT DMG if your cone already caps CRIT Rate)
  • Feet: SPD, highest priority piece
  • Link Rope: Energy Regeneration Rate
  • Substats: SPD > CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG > ATK%

The Energy Regen rope matters more than it looks. His Ultimate is the single biggest Fervor and Punchline dump he has, plus the SPD buff, so a rotation that stalls on energy costs you an entire Elation burst window.

Teams that work without limited five-stars

Waveflair splits into two team shapes, and both are reachable at low investment. The only requirement is action frequency.

Elation core

Pair him with Yao Guang and the Elation Trailblazer, then add Huohuo as the sustain. Having other Elation units switches on the flat +100% Elation trace, the Trailblazer boosts his CRIT DMG and forces out a free Elation Skill, and Huohuo covers healing, energy, and cleansing. Asta works as a support swap for extra ATK and SPD.

Solo Elation with frequent attackers

The other route runs him as the only Elation unit alongside Ashveil and Mortenax Blade, with a healer in the last slot. This is the setup that produced both the maxed Pure Fiction score and the one-cycle Memory of Chaos clear. Constant follow-up attacks keep Fervor climbing, which is exactly what All In! wants. If you do not have Ashveil, Moze fills the same role because he attacks often.

Starter team

With no limited units at all, Waveflair still functions as the main DPS next to the Remembrance Trailblazer, Asta, and Natasha. The Trailblazer advances him forward and attacks repeatedly, Asta adds ATK and SPD, and Natasha covers healing and cleansing. Gallagher and Permansor Terrae are the other sustain swaps worth knowing.

What E0 gives up

E0 is fully functional, and the clears above are the proof. The two Eidolons worth knowing about are E1, which fires an unenhanced Elation Skill every 10 Fervor and adds 24% All-Type RES PEN for a roughly 46% damage gain, and E2, which raises the Fervor cap to 50 and feeds him more stacks. E1S1 is the common stopping point for players who do spend, but nothing in that list is required to finish current endgame content.

The practical takeaway is that Waveflair’s damage scales off your team’s action count and your relic Speed, not your wallet. Get him to a maxed 4-star Elation cone, farm Ever-Glorious Magical Girl with SPD boots, and put two frequent attackers next to him. That build already clears everything the game currently asks for.
