Ronsau, the self-declared herald of the Darkness, hands out the only questline in Hellfire that pays out a Mythic hero skin. The chain is called The Evilest of All Evil of Darkness, and it splits into three separate quests you accept from him one at a time. None of them are combat gauntlets in the traditional sense — two are movement puzzles, and the third is a scavenger hunt across a lava lake.
Quick answer: Speak to Ronsau in Hellfire and complete all three quests in The Evilest of All Evil of Darkness — The Offering of Unlimited Power, The Ascension of Darkness, and The Eruption of Eternal Fire. The Mythic Ronsau skin unlocks automatically once the third one is cleared.
Requirements: Unlock the Hellfire map first
Hellfire is a late-game region and it does not appear until you finish Arizona Jones’ temple questline in the Jungle. That means clearing the Skull Temple, the Maze Temple, and the Trial Temple, and grabbing the map fragment inside each one. Arizona assembles the fragments and the route to Hellfire opens up.
Once you land in Hellfire, Ronsau is the NPC to interact with. Talking to him opens the quest menu listing all three parts of the chain, along with their difficulty ratings and payouts. Difficulty across the three runs from Normal up to Very hard, and individual quests pay out Uranium — 40 for one, 80 for another — on top of the skin at the end of the chain.
| Quest | Objective | On-screen tracker |
|---|---|---|
| #1 The Offering of Unlimited Power | Help Ronsau perform his sacrificial ritual | Bring an enemy matching the symbols (0/6) |
| #2 The Ascension of Darkness | Ascend to the sky and collect the Book of Eternal Darkness | Book of Eternal Darkness pickup |
| #3 The Eruption of Eternal Fire | Activate all the valves to awaken the volcano | Activated 0/14 valves |

Two of the three quests are decided by mobility, not damage. Build for vertical movement and for surviving a fall into lava, and the whole chain gets shorter.
- Impulse Grenade — the launch tool for the sky-island climb.
- Bridge (Frost) — creates footing across gaps.
- Boing (Elec) — bounce height for island hopping.
- Thunderstrike (Elec) — repositioning on the way up.
- Extra Jump and Moon Gravity Jokers — the two that matter most for the climb.
- Sheriff Star — reliable ranged option while you are airborne.

Tip: keep at least one Frost spell slotted for the third quest. Ice shields are what let you survive a drop into the lava lake instead of restarting a long valve route.
Quest 1: The Offering of Unlimited Power (six enemies)
The ritual asks you to deliver sacrifices rather than kill them. Six colored beams shine over the ritual area, each tied to a symbol that matches a specific enemy type, and the counter only ticks up when the right enemy reaches the circle alive.

Quest 2: The Ascension of Darkness (Book of Eternal Darkness)
This is the platforming quest. A chain of floating islands stacks up above Hellfire, and the Book of Eternal Darkness sits at the very top. Falling sends you back down, so the fewer jumps you need, the better.

There are two ways up. The straightforward route is to climb the islands one by one using Boing, Bridge, Thunderstrike, and Extra Jump to bridge the gaps. The much faster route skips most of that entirely: with Moon Gravity active, drop an Impulse Grenade underneath yourself and ride the blast straight toward the summit. A third option is to climb the tall peak nearby — the one players call Mount Doom — and use movement spells to cross to the top island from there.
Grabbing the book completes the quest immediately; you do not need to carry it back down to Ronsau.
Quest 3: The Eruption of Eternal Fire (all 14 valves)
The final quest asks you to wake the volcano by turning every valve on the pipe network. There are 14 of them, spread across and around the lava lake, and the counter at the top of the screen tracks your progress.

How to confirm the Ronsau skin unlocked
Ronsau’s quest menu is the first confirmation. Once a quest is done it is marked as completed and swaps its start prompt for a Play Again button, so all three showing that state means the chain is finished. The reward for finishing the Ronsau questline on the Hellfire map is the Ronsau Skin, and it is granted automatically — there is no separate claim step.
To verify it, open the character selection screen. Ronsau appears there with the Mythic rarity tag and an Equip button, ready to use on your next run.

If the chain stalls, it is almost always one of two things. The ritual counter will not move if the enemy you dragged in does not match the symbol it was delivered to, and the volcano will not erupt while even one of the 14 valves is still glowing green. Both trackers are visible on screen during their quests, so check the numbers before assuming something is bugged.
Hellfire has plenty else worth clearing while you are out there — graves for the Gravekeeper challenge, treasure chests, ore spawns, and the region’s own secret mission — but none of it is required for the skin. Finish the three quests, and Ronsau is yours.
