A Full Rotation
This is the long grind. You need 365 fish caught specifically while the Celestial buff is active, so only catches made during the two-minute window count. Keep the buff up as often as possible and fish in a spot with a high catch rate to speed it along.
Stars Collide
Here you are counting activations, not fish. Every time the Celestial buff turns on or gets refreshed after 15 catches, it ticks one toward the total of 42. Running this alongside A Full Rotation is efficient, since both progress from the same catching loop.
Celestial Infusion
Head to Snowcap Island and use a Shiny totem, then fish for Moon Wood with the Celestial buff active. You need two Shiny Celestial Moon Wood, which requires the buff running so the Celestial mutation applies. Placing the Shiny totem before you fish is the key detail people miss.
How to confirm the mastery is complete
Open the rod in your inventory and check the mastery task menu. Each quest shows a live counter, so you can watch the 365, 42, and 2 totals climb as you fish. When all three read complete, the Falling Stars passive Enhancement is applied to the rod automatically.
Note: If a counter is not moving, the most common cause is that the Celestial buff is not active. A Full Rotation, Stars Collide, and Celestial Infusion all require the buff, so catches made without it will not register toward those objectives.
