Fisch: How to Enter the Chapel at the Crystal Cove Waterfall

The waterfall stays sealed until you feed it a Mastered Enchant Relic carrying one of five accepted rod mutations.

The waterfall stays sealed until you feed it a Mastered Enchant Relic carrying one of five accepted rod mutations.

The Chapel is a hidden endgame area tucked behind the large waterfall at the back of Crystal Cove in Fisch. Walking up to the waterfall does nothing on its own. The entrance opens only when you hand it a specific mutated relic, and getting that relic means committing to some late-game fishing first.

Quick answer: Take a Mastered Enchant Relic to the waterfall at the back of Crystal Cove, interact with it, and choose Present Relic (Consume Relic). The relic is deleted, an animation plays, and you are teleported into the Chapel.

What the waterfall actually requires

The waterfall reads the rod mutation attached to your Enchant Relic. A plain Enchant Relic will not work, and neither will any random mutation. The relic must carry one of the accepted rod mutations, and you only need a single one of them on a single relic.

Accepted rod mutations
Ruinous Rod
Master Rod
Fabulous Rod
Requiem Rod
Poseidon Rod

Note: the relic is permanently consumed when you present it. There is no way to keep it after the Chapel opens, so bring one you are ready to spend.

How to get a Mastered Enchant Relic

The reliable way to produce a Mastered Enchant Relic is the Ruinous Oath, a Stage 8 rod whose passive gives catches a chance to roll the Mastered mutation. Buying it takes serious progression, so treat this as the real barrier to the Chapel rather than the waterfall itself.

RequirementDetail
RodRuinous Oath (Stage 8)
LocationCrimson Cavern, inside Desolate Deep
Cost5,000,000 C$
Level750 minimum
Unlock condition100% Crimson Cavern Shiny Sparkling Bestiary

Reaching the Crimson Cavern runs through the Luminescent Cavern and a Crimson Guard quest, so plan the full route before you spend on the rod.

Equip the Ruinous Oath and set an Enchant Relic as your target catch. The Mastered mutation only rolls while this rod is the one in your hand.
Fish for Enchant Relics and aim for Perfect Catches. A normal catch has a 25% chance to roll the Mastered mutation, while a Perfect Catch makes it 100% guaranteed. Keeping the fish inside the bar for the whole minigame is the fastest path.
Keep fishing until an Enchant Relic lands with the Mastered mutation. Confirm the item name reads Mastered Enchant Relic in your inventory before you head out.

Present the relic at the Crystal Cove waterfall

Travel to Crystal Cove and move toward the back of the cove until you reach the large glowing waterfall. If you have already visited the Underground Music Venue, you are in the right area.
Walk directly up to the waterfall and press the interact prompt. Instead of opening, it displays “The Waterfall” with a Present Relic option, since it wants a relic rather than a key.
Choose Present Relic, then confirm with Consume Relic when the pop-up warns that the relic will be permanently deleted. A short purple loading screen plays and you are dropped inside the Chapel.

How to confirm the Chapel unlocked

You know it worked when the relic vanishes from your inventory, the unlock animation finishes, and the “The Chapel” label appears at the top of the screen. Inside you spawn into a blue-lit stone room with a glowing portal on the floor, pedestals such as Tempest and Maelstrom, and an interactable NPC. From there you can start the legendary rod questlines, unique objectives, exclusive rod skin rewards, and the other secrets tied to the update.

Why the waterfall won’t open

If the entrance stays sealed, run through these checks before trying again.

  • You are standing at the Crystal Cove waterfall, not the Music Venue trapdoor.
  • Your Enchant Relic carries one of the accepted rod mutations listed above.
  • You chose the Present Relic option when the prompt appeared.
  • The relic has not already been consumed on an earlier attempt.

The requirement is simple once the right relic is in hand. The work is the road to the Ruinous Oath and the Mastered mutation, so get one Mastered Enchant Relic ready, present it at the waterfall, and step through into one of the game’s newest endgame locations.
