The Crested Cloud is one of the fastest flying boats in Fisch, and it is locked behind a single quest in Skycrest. There is no shop purchase and no random drop involved — you collect four specific items, hand them over, and the boat is yours permanently.
Quick answer: Talk to Aeronaut Vance in Skycrest, then bring him an African Butterfly Fish, a Gusty Abaya, a Gusty Crested Relic, and a Gusty Imperial Relic.
What the Crested Cloud boat does in Fisch
The Crested Cloud is a flying boat with a maximum speed of 90 S/ps, which puts it at the top end of travel options in the game. Because it flies rather than floats, it does not need open water underneath it, so it doubles as a way of reaching Above The Clouds without messing with the hang glider ring course.

Skycrest itself is built around air travel, so you will see glider items sitting alongside boats in the hotbar while you work through the quest. None of those are required for the Crested Cloud — the boat is the reward at the end of Aeronaut Vance’s request.

Add to Google Preferences →Crested Cloud quest requirements: all four items
Three of the four turn-ins must carry the Gusty mutation. Only the fish is accepted in its plain form.
| Item | Where to get it | Base chance |
|---|---|---|
| African Butterfly Fish | Skycrest pond | Standard catch |
| Gusty Crested Relic | Fishing, boosted in Skycrest | 1 in 2,000 |
| Gusty Imperial Relic | Fishing, boosted in Skycrest | 1 in 15,000 |
| Gusty Abaya | Any Abaya, then mutate it | Standard catch |
Both relic rates are boosted while you fish in Skycrest, so there is no reason to farm them anywhere else. The Imperial Relic at 1 in 15,000 is the bottleneck by a wide margin, and it is worth starting that grind first while you pick up the easier items along the way.

How to get the Gusty mutation on relics and the Abaya
You do not need to fluke the mutation on the catch itself. There are two reliable ways to apply Gusty to an item you already own or to the next thing you reel in.
- Take the item to the Appraiser in Tidefall and re-roll the mutation until Gusty lands.
- Fish with the Breeze Caster rod during windy weather, which gives roughly a 70% chance of the Gusty mutation on what you catch.
If you have the Breeze Caster, wait for windy weather before you start relic hunting. Pulling an Imperial Relic that already has Gusty on it saves you from re-rolling one of the rarest items in the chain.
How to claim the Crested Cloud from Aeronaut Vance

How to confirm the Crested Cloud unlocked
The four items are consumed on turn-in and the Crested Cloud is added to your boats immediately. Spawn it from your inventory and check the stat readout — a correctly unlocked boat shows a speed of 90.0 S/ps and lifts off the water instead of staying on the surface.
Once it is unlocked, the boat stays on your account and can be spawned anywhere you would normally place a vessel. The relic grind is the only real gate here, so if you are short on time, prioritise windy weather and the Breeze Caster so a lucky Imperial Relic pull arrives with Gusty already attached.
