You get one free rod of your choosing, which means the decision matters more than any grind you will do this week. The strongest pick is not the rod with the biggest Luck number — it is the rod that solves the specific problem holding your account back.
Quick answer: Wish for MiguRod if you want money and relics, Noiseform or Castbound for mutation farming, Astralhook for progress-locked catches, and Rod of the Cosmos only if you are dedicated to Cosmic Relics.
Pick your rod by job, not by Luck stat
Every rod on the shortlist below is strong, but they are strong at different things. Match the rod to the gap in your collection and the wish pays off far more than grabbing whatever has the highest number next to Luck.

MiguRod: The best wish for money and relics
MiguRod carries 427% Lure Speed, 237% Luck, 0.101 Control, -185% Resilience, and infinite weight capacity. The Lure Speed and Luck combination make it a fast, high-value catch rod, and the infinite Max Kg means no fish is too heavy for it.
Its real value is the Mesmerizer. Every three catches it fires and hands you two extra fish, all of which get the Mesmerized mutation. Those bonus fish also roll a 14% chance for Shiny, a 9% chance for an Enchant Relic, and a 1% chance for an Exalted Relic. Paired with the Scavenger enchantment, that turns MiguRod into a relic machine as much as a money rod.
Each fish then has a 41% chance to trigger Chimera’s Wrath, which spawns three shapes in the minigame. Every successful dodge grants 4% Progress, while each hit cuts the bar. Chimera’s Wrath also gives a 1.41x higher chance for Rare Finds. On top of that, the rod has a 40.1% chance for Supersonic (8.01x) and starts every minigame with an instant +31% Progress.
Note: the -185% Resilience is brutal, and it is the one reason to hesitate. If you struggle with the minigame, the extra rewards will not make up for repeatedly losing fish.
Noiseform: Weight boosts and a rhythm minigame
Noiseform sits at 125% Lure Speed, 290% Luck, 0 Control, 65% Resilience, and infinite weight. It stacks value in a very direct way — a flat +22% Weight Boost, a 35% chance for Soultorn (8.5x), a 25% chance for Flowed (6.5x), +15% Progress Speed, and +7% Forced Progress Speed.
The standout is the 35% chance on every catch to hand you an additional Soultorn fish carrying a 1.85x Weight Boost. Over a long session, those free duplicates are where most of the money comes from.
How the Noiseform minigame works
Every 3.5 seconds, three zones can appear. The correct one is flagged by three warnings before a beam strikes for 0.15 seconds. Selecting it correctly gives 20% progress and a 33% chance to apply the Rhythmic mutation (11x).
Star Beams can also appear anywhere from 0 to 10 seconds apart, dropping 10 arrows that each add 2% progress. Get a zone wrong and your control drops by 28%. Four wrong selections end the minigame outright, so this rod punishes inattention more than most.
Castbound: Free mutated fish on half your catches
Castbound runs infinite Lure Speed, 390% Luck, 0.14 Control, 32% Resilience, and infinite weight. Infinite Lure Speed means you are never waiting on a bite, which alone makes it one of the faster farming rods available.
Its passive gives +15% XP from all fish and a 50% chance for an additional fish carrying Cosmos, Nebula, Energy, or Fury. That is a coin flip on every catch for a second valuable fish, and it is the main argument for the wish. The Slash passive adds 5% Progress every 0.8 seconds during the minigame, so the bar keeps climbing even when the fish is not cooperating. The minigame itself gets progressively stranger the longer you hold a Perfect Catch streak.
Astraeus Serenade: The safest all-purpose wish
If you do not want to commit to a specialist, Astraeus Serenade is the low-risk answer. It has 100% Lure Speed, 300% Luck, 0.3 Control, 20% Resilience, and infinite weight — a clean stat line with no glaring weakness, which is rare among the top-end rods.
The passive gives +50% Progress Speed along with a spread of mutation chances: 15% Astraeus, 10% Serene, 8% Celestial, 8% Breezed, and 8% Nova. There is also a 10% chance to instantly fill the progress bar. Flurry of Stars adds up to +30% Progress during normal fishing, and it gets stronger during Starfall.
The rod is also lined up for a buff, so it holds its value beyond this event. No specific date for that change has been confirmed.
Astralhook: For fish with progress restrictions
Astralhook carries 100% Lure Speed, 200% Luck, 0.2 Control, 20% Resilience, and infinite weight. On paper it is the most modest rod here, and that is fine — you wish for it to solve a problem, not to top a stat chart.
Stars fall every 2 to 4 seconds and each one adds +15% Progress, layered on top of a base +15% Progress Speed. That constant drip of progress is what makes it useful against fish that restrict how fast your bar can move. It also carries additional mutation and Enchanted Pool effects. If your issue is landing hard catches rather than earning money, this is the wish.
Rod of the Cosmos: Cosmic Relics only
Rod of the Cosmos is the one clearly niche pick. Its stats are modest — 50% Lure Speed, 135% Luck, 0.1 Control, 10% Resilience, and a 10,000kg cap rather than infinite weight — so it is a poor general money rod.
What it does have is a 2% chance to pull a Cosmic Relic during Starfall, along with +50% Progress Speed while Starfall is active. Outside Starfall that relic chance falls to 0.1%. It also carries a 15% chance for Nova (6x). If you do not want to rely on Stellarwave, or you want a dedicated Cosmic Relic rod, this fills a role almost nothing else can.
Other rods worth the wish

Wingkeeper is the daytime counterpart to Wingripper, with 222% Luck, 33% Resilience, and infinite weight. It is a reasonable pick mainly if you want to complete the pair.
What you cannot wish for
The wish pool covers a wide range of rods, including past event rods, level-locked rods, black market rods, music venue rods, old quest rods, and currently obtainable rods. Developer exclusives such as Illumina and Rex are excluded, as are trophy rods and content creator rods.
One practical warning: if you wish for a rod above your level requirement, it stays in your inventory until you reach that level. That makes level-gated rewards a weak use of a free wish.
Getting the most out of whichever rod you pick
A rod’s passive only matters if you are pairing it with the right setup. Bait, enchantments, and location all feed into how much a wish actually earns you. MiguRod with Scavenger, for instance, shifts from a money rod to a relic rod entirely because of the enchantment.
Rods with negative or near-zero Control are the ones most affected by your setup and your own reaction speed. MiguRod, Noiseform, Remembrance, and Wingripper at night all shrink or destabilize the control bar, so test them on lower-value fish before you take them somewhere that punishes a failed catch.
The wish is free, but it is also singular. Look at what you already own, find the gap — money, mutations, hard catches, or relics — and pick the rod that closes it. A specialist that fixes your exact bottleneck will out-earn a generalist you already have three versions of.
