Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 quietly turns a classic PvE idea into a very visible PvP gamble: you can become one of the island’s bosses. That means a mythic weapon, inflated stats, and a flashy new character model — but also a permanent map ping that makes you everyone’s problem.
How boss transformations work in Chapter 7
Bosses in Chapter 7 Season 1 aren’t tied to a single named POI. Instead, three roaming bosses — Hush, Beach Brutus, and Human Bill — spawn at random in a limited set of landmarks each match.
Each boss fight follows the same basic rules:
- The boss appears with a skull icon on your minimap when you get close.
- Every boss is guarded by two henchmen NPCs.
- The boss uses a unique Mythic weapon version of a standard gun.
- On death, the boss drops meds, their Mythic weapon, and a Medallion/Kit that lets you transform into them.
Picking up and activating that Medallion is what turns you into a boss. It consumes an inventory slot, can’t be dropped, and exposes your exact position on everyone’s map for the rest of the match. You also can’t hold a second Medallion; once you’re a boss, you’re locked into that choice until you’re knocked or eliminated.

Bosses rotate through a fixed pool of landmarks. You won’t know which one is where until you get close enough for the skull icon to show up, but you only need to check a handful of spots.
Common boss spawn locations include:
- Ripped Tides
- Classified Canyon
- Peelian Swamp (west of Painted Palms)
- Paws Inn (east of Wonkeeland)
- Sunset Falls (south of Wonkeeland)
- Painted Palms
- Innoloop Labs
- Humble Hills
- Pumping Station landmark
There is no fixed order or guaranteed pairing. Any of the three bosses can occupy any of the eligible landmarks in a given match, and they move between those locations from game to game.
How to become a boss in Fortnite


Once transformed, all bosses share a set of core stats and perks:
- Infinite stamina.
- 125 Health and 125 Shield, plus Overshield in Brutus’ case.
- The ability to summon 2 henchmen every 90 seconds by interacting with the Medallion in your inventory.
Note: The Medallion always occupies a slot, and you can’t drop it to turn the effect off. If you don’t want to be permanently tracked on the map, leave it on the ground and only take the Mythic weapon.

Hush is the precision option. She fights with Hush’s Deadeye Assault Rifle, a Mythic AR tuned for headshots, with higher damage, better headshot multiplier, low recoil, and strong mid-to-long range performance.
Typical Hush spawn areas cluster around Wonkeeland — including Paws Inn to the east and Sunset Falls to the south — but she can also appear at Ripped Tides, Classified Canyon, Peelian Swamp, or other boss-enabled landmarks.\

- Mythic Deadeye Assault Rifle: high damage rifle with better headshot payoff and manageable recoil, ideal as a primary beam weapon.
- Medallion/Kit power – Zero Point Dash: jump, then jump again midair to teleport forward in short, rapid bursts when the ability is active. The dash can be used repeatedly during its active window and refreshes on a cooldown (around 90 seconds for full reactivation).
- Stat package: infinite stamina, boosted Health and Shield, plus the standard boss henchmen summon.
Hush is the most natural pick for players who already rely on AR beams and constant repositioning. Zero Point Dash pairs well with sliding and other mobility tools to chain movement across open terrain while still keeping your rifle out.
Beach Brutus: Shotgun brawler with regenerating shields
Beach Brutus leans into close-quarters chaos. He carries Brutus’ Twin Hammer Shotguns — two shotguns that can be fired in sequence by holding the trigger. The Mythic version hits hard at close range, fires rapidly, and reloads faster than its standard counterparts.
Common Brutus appearances include Ripped Tides and other boss-eligible landmarks like Classified Canyon, Peelian Swamp, Paws Inn, and Sunset Falls.

- Stat package: 125 Health, 125 Shield, and 150 Overshield on top of the infinite stamina baseline, plus the recurring henchmen summon.
Brutus is built for players who like to entry-frag and absorb the first few bullets. Shield regeneration turns disengages into full resets if you can break line of sight for a moment, and the Overshield layer lets you push fights others would avoid. The trade-off is that your giant frame and map ping make flanks and stealth much less reliable.
Human Bill: close-range Arc-Lightning and low gravity
Human Bill is the strange one: a blue “human” alien who fights with an Arc-Lightning Gun. The Mythic Arc-Lightning Gun excels at short-range damage and takes longer to overheat than regular versions, but its effective range is limited, and staying out in the open leaves you vulnerable to snipers and rifles.
Human Bill shows up frequently at Ripped Tides and around Wonkeeland, including Sunset Falls and Paws Inn, alongside the other boss rotation spots.

Human Bill suits players who like abusing high ground, cliffs, and aggressive repositioning. Low Gravity makes risky jumps and fall escapes safe while it’s active, and the Arc-Lightning Gun punishes anyone who tries to chase too closely into your space.
The catch: Being a boss paints a target on you
The boss fantasy in Chapter 7 comes with clear downsides:
- Permanent tracking: your Medallion marks your exact location with a boss skull on every other player’s map, not just a vague zone.
- Forced inventory slot: the Medallion takes a slot that could hold utility, heals, or ammo; you can’t drop it once picked up.
- Locked choice: you can’t pick up a second Medallion to swap bosses. You’re committed until you’re downed or eliminated.
- Bigger hitbox: boss character models are larger than standard skins, making you slightly easier to hit in open fights.
This turns boss play into a risk/reward equation rather than a free power spike. In early and mid-game, the stats, abilities, and Mythics can let you snowball lobbies. In late circles, the constant ping makes rotating without being beamed much harder.
For some matches, the right call is to kill the boss, take the Mythic weapon, and leave the Medallion on the ground. In others, especially if you’re confident winning multiple back-to-back fights, fully embracing the boss role can turn you into the gravitational center of the match.
