Fortnite Chun-Li (Street Fighter 2026): The Free Cup Route and Shop Date

The movie-based Chun-Li and Ryu arrive in Chapter 7 Season 4, with a competitive cup handing the outfit out before it hits the store.

The movie-based Chun-Li and Ryu arrive in Chapter 7 Season 4, with a competitive cup handing the outfit out before it hits the store.

A fresh Chun-Li outfit is landing in Fortnite, this time modeled on Callina Liang’s version of the character from the 2026 live-action Street Fighter film rather than the arcade look that has been in the game since 2021. It arrives alongside a matching Ryu, a full set of Street Fighter cosmetics, and a competitive cup that lets you claim the Chun-Li skin before it ever reaches the Item Shop.

Quick answer: Earn a strong finish in the Friday evening Street Fighter Cup to claim the Chun-Li (Street Fighter 2026) outfit and back bling at no cost. The set arrives in the Item Shop the next day, Saturday, October 10, 2026.

A second Chun-Li, built around the movie

This is a brand-new outfit, not a restyle of the existing one. Chun-Li (Street Fighter 2026) is a Gaming Legends Series outfit introduced in Chapter 7, Season 4, carrying the in-game description “The strongest woman in the world.” Its internal ID is Character_PongoQuell, and the model was added through update v42.30. The look uses the likeness of actress Callina Liang, who plays the character in the film, with the collaboration first shown at ComplexCon over the weekend of October 3–4.

Ryu comes along for the ride with his own 2026 outfit. He ships with two selectable styles, the standard Ryu (Street Fighter 2026) and a Dark Ryu (Street Fighter 2026) edit style.

If you already own the original Chun-Li from Chapter 2, Season 5, this release does not upgrade or replace it. The classic outfit, with its blue qipao and hair buns, stays its own separate item in the Gaming Legends Series. Lining the two models up side by side in the style menu makes the difference clear.

The Street Fighter Cup is the free route

Epic is running a Street Fighter Cup that hands the outfit to top finishers before anyone can buy it. The cup sits in the Compete tab and is split across three formats, so you can pick the one that matches your platform and build preference.

  • Street Fighter Cup Reload — standard Reload Duos.
  • Street Fighter Cup Zero Build Reload — Zero Build Reload Duos.
  • Street Fighter Mobile Cup — solo, touch-input only.

The two Reload cups are played in duos during a Friday evening window of roughly 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, so you need a partner. Eligibility checks apply before you can queue. The Reload cups require a valid rank, Multi-Factor Authentication enabled, and a minimum account level of 50, with age restrictions in place. The Mobile Cup lowers the account level requirement to 15 and is locked to touch controls.

Cosmetics you do not win in the cup are not lost. The entire set rolls into the Item Shop over the weekend that follows the tournament.

How cup scoring works and what you need

Scoring rewards placement far more than frags. A Victory Royale is worth 60 points, while each elimination adds only 2. That tilts the whole event toward surviving late rather than hunting kills early.

The reward tiers stack as you climb. Reaching 8 points unlocks the Ready, Set, Fight spray, which is an easy floor to clear across a session. The Chun-Li outfit and its tournament back bling sit higher up, tied to a strong leaderboard finish in your region’s bracket. Based on past Reload Duos cups, a Top 50 placement has needed around 505 points, so expect to grind several matches with consistent high placements rather than a single lucky game.

You will know it worked when the spray and outfit appear in your locker after the cup resolves and rewards are distributed. If a reward you earned does not show up, the in-game bug report flow under Report, then Report a bug, then “Rewards I earned aren’t appearing” is the correct place to flag it.

Everything in the Street Fighter set

The collaboration is a full set, not just the two outfits. Several pieces carry selectable or reactive styles.

Both pickaxes land as Gaming Legends Series harvesting tools. Hado Fists comes with its own edit styles, including a darker pink finish, while Chun-Li’s Nunchaku is described in-game as her newest favorite weapon.

When it reaches the Item Shop

Players who miss the cup or fall below the cutoff can purchase the set from the Item Shop starting Saturday, October 10, 2026, seven days before the Street Fighter film’s theatrical debut on October 16. Epic has yet to announce its price. For comparison, the original Chun-Li outfit has previously cost 1,600 V-Bucks by itself, while the Ryu & Chun-Li Bundle has been priced at 2,200 V-Bucks; individual Gaming Legends outfits generally range from 1,500 to 2,000 V-Bucks.

All of this lands inside Chapter 7 Season 4, which runs through October 31, so the Street Fighter tile will share the shop with the ongoing Fortnitemares content. The cup is the only way to get the outfit without spending V-Bucks, and that window closes once the tournament wraps for the weekend.
