Fortnite: How to Get the Quack Zero Point Sprite

The rarest Sprite of Chapter 7 Season 3 arrives with the v41.30 update and drops from Sprite Chests.

The rarest Sprite of Chapter 7 Season 3 arrives with the v41.30 update and drops from Sprite Chests.

The Quack Zero Point Sprite is a special, duck-themed version of the mythic Zero Point Sprite, and it lands as part of the New Sprite Day lineup on July 30, 2026. It shares the crystal shape and glow of the standard Zero Point, but its odd quacking design sets it apart, and early word points to it being the hardest Sprite in the current season to actually get your hands on.

Quick answer: After the v41.30 update goes live at 13:00 UTC on July 30, drop into Battle Royale or Zero Build, open Sprite Chests to find the Quack Zero Point Sprite, then extract it to lock it into your permanent collection.

Release time: Thursday, July 30, 2026 — 9:00 AM ET / 6:00 AM PT / 2:00 PM BST

When the Quack Zero Point Sprite goes live

The Sprite arrives with the Fortnite v41.30 content update on Thursday, July 30, 2026, launching alongside the Peely and Llama Sprites. It becomes huntable once server downtime ends, which lines up with the game’s usual daily content refresh. The update files may download earlier in the day, so seeing the content in the files does not mean the Sprite is available yet — wait for the refresh.

How to find and collect it

Sprite Chests are the primary source for the Quack Zero Point Sprite, and finding one is only half the job. Fortnite’s Runners system requires you to extract a newly discovered Sprite before it counts toward your permanent collection. Pick it up, carry it to an Extraction Site or use a Portable Extractor, and survive until the process finishes.

Enter a Battle Royale or Zero Build match after New Sprite Day begins. The Sprite cannot be unlocked before the update is live, so any early footage is running on unreleased files rather than normal play.
Grab a Sprite Locator early. It flags nearby Sprite Chests so you can chain more openings per match, which matters a lot given how low the odds appear to be.
Land on a route with several Sprite encounters close together and open every Sprite Chest you can reach. Keep moving instead of camping one spot, since a single chest rarely produces a rare variant.
The moment a Quack Zero Point Sprite appears, pick it up before anyone else claims it. A rare drop like this can pull other players toward you.
Head straight to an Extraction Site, or deploy a Portable Extractor if it supports the release. Reload, top up your health and shields, and check for enemies before you start, because the carrier must stay alive until extraction completes.
Once the extraction finishes, open the Sprite collection menu to confirm the Quack Zero Point now shows as unlocked. If it does, it is permanent and can be equipped in future matches from the start.

Playing in a squad is a real advantage. One player can carry and extract the Sprite while teammates hold off attackers, and more players covering ground means more chests opened per game. Trading with friends who pull a duplicate is another realistic route if pure luck is not cooperating.

Note: Picking the Sprite up without finishing extraction almost certainly will not count. If you are eliminated while carrying it, you will need to find another one in a later match.

What the Quack Zero Point Sprite does

Epic has not published the Quack variant’s ability. Because it is a version of the Zero Point Sprite, it may keep the same core power, which spawns a Shield Bubble Jr. around you whenever you use a healing item on yourself. Splashes and grenades do not trigger it.

The base Zero Point bubble scales with levels, and the Quack version could inherit that same progression:

Sprite levelShield Bubble Jr. duration
Level 16 seconds
Level 27 seconds
Level 38 seconds
Level 49 seconds
Level 510 seconds

That defensive loop is what makes Zero Point so strong, especially in Zero Build, where you cannot throw up a wall. Every heal turns into instant cover. Whether the Quack variant simply reskins that effect or adds something new will only be confirmed once its collection entry is visible on July 30.

One theory ties the name to the existing Quack Snack item, which automatically levels up your Sprites when used. The speculation is that Quack Zero Point could upgrade or level items you find in chests, but nothing along those lines has been confirmed, so treat any claims of exclusive loot or shield bonuses with caution.

Why it is considered the rarest Sprite

Quack is a brand-new variant type, and this is the first time it has appeared for Zero Point. Variants sit alongside the standard design as much tougher collection targets, and Epic has not published an official encounter percentage for this one. For scale, other rare variants of Zero Point already carry brutal odds — the mythic base sits near 0.00093%, while Galaxy Zero Point drops at roughly 0.000016%.

Estimates place the Quack variant’s drop rate around 0.000001%, which would make it several times harder to find than variants like Gem Zero Point. There are a few ways Epic could gate it, including a much smaller chance of replacing a standard Zero Point, boosted odds during a Sprite Power Hour, or a tie to a separate event. None of those systems is confirmed for this Sprite.

An unnamed event is on the Runners schedule for August 1, two days after the Sprites arrive, and it has fueled speculation about boosted odds. That event stays hidden for now, so do not treat it as a guaranteed way to grab the Sprite.

Keeping it and whether it is worth the grind

Once successfully extracted, the Quack Zero Point should stay in your Sprite collection and be available in future games. Whether it remains obtainable for the rest of the season is a separate question, and Epic has not confirmed if it is a permanent addition or a limited-time variant. Given the uncertainty, chasing it while the July 30 New Sprite Day content is active is the safe play.

For serious Sprite collectors, this is the standout pickup of the July 30 batch. Peely and Llama will get plenty of attention as familiar mascots, but the Quack Zero Point is the unusual one, and its potential rarity means missing it now could be very hard to fix later. Its real value in matches depends on whether it shares the standard Zero Point ability or brings something of its own, which becomes clear the moment you can add it to your collection.
