Poison Ivy is one of the new characters added to Fortnite for the DC-themed Hot Bat Summer event, joining Harley Quinn and Catwoman as a Gotham City Siren you can track down on the map. She roams a fixed area near a small island, and you can either fight her for a Mythic weapon or pay to bring her along as a helper.
Quick answer: Head to the small island north of The Battlewoods (near Lifty Lodge), find Poison Ivy roaming the sand, and pick Duel to earn her Mythic Ranger Pistol or Hire to recruit her for 350 Gold.

Poison Ivy location on the map
Poison Ivy spawns on a small island north of The Battlewoods, on the spot marked as the Bus Stop Landmark. The island sits near Lifty Lodge, and the easiest way to reach her is to aim for the southernmost point of that island. She patrols the area on foot and is usually walking along the sand, so scan the beach when you land.
When you get close, interacting with her gives you two choices. You can challenge her to a duel, or you can hire her as an NPC companion.

Add to Google Preferences →Duel or hire: what each option does
| Option | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Duel | None (you must defeat her) | Poison Ivy’s Mythic Ranger Pistol and a Mythic Batman Sprite when available |
| Hire (Scout Specialist) | 350 Gold | She follows you and periodically marks nearby enemies until you win or she is eliminated |
Hiring her as a Scout Specialist is a safer early-game pick if you want an extra pair of eyes. She tags opponents around you, which makes it easier to spot threats. If the Mythic weapon is your goal, choose the duel instead.

How to beat Poison Ivy in the duel
Poison Ivy is not one of the tougher bosses on the island, but she can punish you at medium range. Her main weapon is a Ranger Pistol, and she lands consistent shots when you stay out in the open. Close the gap or break line of sight to cut down the damage she deals.
Watch for three abilities during the fight:
- Stink Grenades that leave damaging gas clouds on the ground.
- A healing field that slowly restores her health.
- Rapid pistol fire if you stay exposed for too long.
Step out of the gas whenever a Stink Grenade lands, since standing in it wears you down fast. When she activates her healing field, keep firing on her. The regeneration is slow, so steady pressure will end the fight before she recovers much health.
You know the duel is done when she is eliminated and drops her loot on the spot. Pick it up to add the Mythic Ranger Pistol to your inventory.

Poison Ivy’s Mythic Ranger Pistol stats
The reward for winning is a Mythic version of the Ranger Pistol. It carries a higher fire rate than the standard versions and gets an even faster fire rate while aiming down sights, which makes it strong for accurate mid-range shooting.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Damage | 36 |
| Headshot damage | 72 |
| Structure damage | 35 |
| Magazine size | 17 |
| Fire rate | 6.1 |
| Reload time | 1.2325 seconds |

Is the fight worth it?
If you want one of the event’s exclusive Mythics, Poison Ivy is a low-risk target. Her fight is straightforward compared with some other bosses, and the faster ADS fire rate on the Ranger Pistol makes it a genuine upgrade for mid-range engagements. If you would rather not risk an early boss fight, recruiting her as a Scout Specialist for 350 Gold gives you an NPC companion who marks enemies for the rest of the match. Either way, she is worth visiting at least once while Hot Bat Summer is live.
