Fortnite Victory Umbrella: Earning the Free Glider in Chapter 7 Season 3

The Victory Umbrella is Fortnite's oldest free reward, and it still works the same way in Chapter 7. You do not buy it, unlock it through the Battle Pass, or grind a quest line for it. You win a match, and the glider lands in your Locker. The base version is a simple red-and-white umbrella, while the more eye-catching styles are tied to wins in specific ranked modes.

Quick answer: Win one solo match in standard Battle Royale to earn the Victory Umbrella glider for free. To collect the ranked variants, win a match in each matching ranked mode (Solo BR, Zero Build Duos, and Reload Duos).

How to get the free Victory Umbrella in Battle Royale

The casual route is the easiest one. Drop into a regular solo Battle Royale match and finish as the last player standing. That single Victory Royale awards the Fame 'Brella, the plain red-and-white glider that anyone can earn regardless of skill rating or rank.

There is no minimum number of eliminations required and no progress bar to fill. The win alone is the trigger. Once you secure it, the glider is permanent and usable across every mode.

Ranked Victory Umbrella variants and how to unlock each one

Beyond the base glider, three styled variants are handed out for ranked wins. Each one is locked to a particular ranked mode, so the umbrella style you receive matches where you earned the victory. Importantly, you do not need a high rank. A single win in the correct mode is enough.

Each variant keeps the same umbrella shape but adds its own visual treatment, and they do not overwrite one another. You can hold all four versions at once, so collecting the full set simply means winning once in standard solo play and once in each of the three ranked modes.

Tips to secure the ranked wins faster

If the win is the only thing standing between you and the glider, the mode you queue into matters. Duos modes let you bring a teammate, which makes coordinating fights and reviving each other far easier than going solo. Zero Build is also a strong option if building is not your strength, since it removes that mechanic entirely and lets you focus on aim and positioning.

Beyond mode choice, the usual placement habits apply. Land away from crowded drop spots, so you have time to gather loot, carry a balanced loadout with healing and both close and long-range weapons, and play the late game for survival rather than chasing eliminations. Staying inside the safe zone and using cover gets you to the final circle, where one clean win finishes the unlock.

How to confirm the umbrella unlocked, and when it expires

After a qualifying win, the glider appears in your Locker under your glider cosmetics. If it is there, the unlock worked, and it stays on your account permanently from that point on.

The catch is timing. Victory Umbrella variants are tied to the season they appear in. Once the current season ends, that season's specific umbrellas stop being available, and you cannot earn them later. If you want every style, log the wins before the season closes out rather than leaving them for the final days.
