Genshin Impact 7.0: Stygian Onslaught Dire (Lv. 6) Teams and Clear Times

Entry requirements, the three Lv. 110 bosses, the 180-second objective, and team compositions that hold up in Version 7.0.

Dire is the sixth and final difficulty of Stygian Onslaught, the boss rush mode that sits at the top of Genshin Impact’s permanent endgame. In Version 7.0 it puts three Lv. 110 bosses in front of you — Chimeric Winged Lion, Veteran Wind Operative, and Knuckle Duckle — with no co-op, no Exalted Ones buffs, and no character reuse between battlefields.

Quick answer: Clear Fearless (Level 5) in single player to unlock Dire, then defeat all three Lv. 110 bosses using twelve different characters. Finishing all three battlefields within a combined 180 seconds completes the Perilous Objective and awards the Sublimation weapon skins.

Stygian Onslaught Dire entry requirements and rules

The mode itself unlocks after you finish Archon Quest Prologue Act 3, Song of the Dragon and Freedom, and reach Adventure Rank 20. The domain sits north of Mingyun Village in Liyue, right next to a Teleport Waypoint — interact with the ley line disturbance to open the difficulty menu.

Dire is gated behind Fearless, and the qualifying Fearless run has to be a solo clear. Co-op is disabled entirely on Dire, and rewards at this difficulty can only be claimed in single player. From Level 4 upward you also cannot repeat a character across the three battlefields, which means Dire demands twelve separately built units, not four.

One more constraint matters more than people expect. Exalted Ones boons — the daily buffs applied to characters other players used to clear Dire — are inactive at this difficulty. Everything you bring runs on its own stats. Bosses here also have far more health and hit considerably harder than their Fearless versions.

Note: Stygian Onslaught starts every battlefield at zero energy. That is a real nerf to burst-dependent units, Raiden Shogun included, and it shapes which slot each character can occupy.

Version 7.0 bosses, HP, and shield mechanics

All three bosses scale to Lv. 110 on Dire, and each one has a gate that raw damage alone handles badly. The health pools below are the values seen on Dire runs in the current cycle.

BossDire HPWhat opens it up
Chimeric Winged Lion~23.3MStellar Glimmer damage interrupts its attack sequences. It carries an innate Electro shield, so a Stellar-Conduct team is the cleanest answer.
Veteran Wind Operative~17.5MBond of Life carriers such as Arlecchino and Clorinde blow through its mechanics rather than fighting them.
Knuckle Duckle~25.9MIt immediately summons Stamping Devices and shields itself. Electro-Charged or Lunar-Charged turns those devices against the boss to strip the shield.

Dire team compositions and real clear times

Twelve-character rosters are the hard part, so it helps to see splits that actually finish. One full Dire clear ran a Stellar-Swirl opener into two fast follow-ups, with the second and third battlefields both landing under 66 seconds.

BattlefieldTeamTime
Chimeric Winged LionDiona, Faruzan, Odette, Yumemizuki Mizuki113s
Veteran Wind OperativeYae Miko, Alyosha, Escoffier, Sandrone65s
Knuckle DuckleRaiden Shogun, Nicole, Durin, Chevreuse63s

That run totals 241 seconds, which clears Dire but misses the 180-second Perilous Objective. The bottleneck is the Lion. A second clear that fronted Sandrone with Yae Miko, Odette, and Escoffier cut the Lion to 101 seconds, then used Arlecchino, Fischl, Chevreuse, and Bennett on the Wind Operative and Mavuika, Xilonen, Columbina, and Ineffa on Knuckle Duckle for a 318-second total.

Sandrone is the strongest single answer to the Lion because she is the only unit that enables Stellar-Conduct. She wants consistent Electro and Cryo application around her, which is why Yae Miko is her standout partner for off-field Electro and self-damage, with Escoffier adding RES shred plus off-field Cryo. Nicole and Bennett cover the ATK buffing, and Xilonen shreds both Cryo and Electro — but skip Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City on her, since it does not buff Stellar-Conduct damage.

Mizuki fills the other Stellar slot. She is a 5-star Anemo catalyst who works as a Stellar-Swirl on-field driver, running Sunny Morning Sleep-In with the Scarlet Proof set and stacking Elemental Mastery with enough Energy Recharge to keep her Burst online. Her output leans heavily on having Odette in the team, so she is not a drop-in for a non-Stellar comp.

Sample splits worth planning around are Sandrone, Yae Miko, Odette, and Nicole on the Lion; Arlecchino, Chevreuse, and Fischl on the Wind Operative; and Flins, Sucrose, Ineffa, and Columbina on Knuckle Duckle. Watch for overlaps — the no-repeat rule means any unit appearing in two of your drafts has to be swapped out of one of them before you start.

Check your damage on The Captain before attempting Dire

Because Dire is a damage check with a timer attached, testing rotations on a dummy is faster than burning attempts. Walk up to The Captain, the Arena Manager, and press the highlighted F prompt to open the training options.

Run your full opener exactly as you would in the battlefield, from zero energy. The stage panels track cumulative damage and elapsed time on the side of the screen, and the “Complete stage & exit” button ends the test when you have the number you need.

Repeat the test with each of your three drafted teams. Compare the total against the boss health values above — if a team cannot push roughly 23M to 26M within its share of the timer, it is the team that needs rebuilding, not the run.

How to confirm the Dire clear registered

Defeating the last boss brings up the Challenge Completed screen, which lists each battlefield’s individual time and the combined total. A Best Record summary follows with completion times and damage dealt per battlefield, and that total is what the 180-second Perilous Objective is measured against.

If rewards do not appear, the cause is almost always one of three things. The run was attempted before Fearless had been cleared solo, a character was reused across two battlefields, or the attempt was made in co-op — which Dire does not support at all.

Version 7.0 cycle dates and the artifact reward window

The Version 7.0 cycle runs from August 19, 2026 to September 22, 2026, following the usual pattern of Stygian Onslaught opening eight days after a new version. Bosses and stages reset when the cycle changes.

CycleDuration
Version 7.0August 19, 2026 – September 22, 2026
Following cycleSeptember 30, 2026 – November 3, 2026

The Disturbance Outbreak state covered the first 10 days of the cycle and has already ended, so spending Resin after a Level 3 or higher clear no longer produces extra artifact drops. Everything else, Dire included, stays playable until the cycle closes. The Dire Commendation window for this cycle also closed on August 29, 2026 at server reset across Asia, EU, and NA.

If you are short on the twelve units Dire demands, the practical move is to build outward from the Lion. It is the slowest fight for most rosters and the one that decides whether the 180-second objective is even in range, so fixing that battlefield first tends to pull the whole run under the wire.
