The Cryo Traveler hits far harder than most players expect, but the payoff only shows up when the rest of the team keeps Stellar reactions going. The whole kit is built around triggering Stellar Conduct and Stellar Swirl, so the Traveler wants Electro, Cryo, and Anemo teammates who can apply their elements constantly while the Traveler swaps in and out.
Quick answer: The strongest Cryo Traveler team is Cryo MC + Odette + Yae Miko + Sucrose. If you are free-to-play, run Cryo MC + Fischl + Alyosha + Prune for a Hexerei setup, or Cryo MC + Sucrose + Diona + Alyosha for a reaction-focused team.
How Cryo Traveler’s reactions decide the team
The Cryo Traveler works in two ways. As an on-field DPS, they lean on Stellar-Conduct teams, which need steady Electro application. As an off-field or Burst DPS, they run in Stellar-Swirl teams, which need steady Anemo application. Both styles want a second Cryo source to feed the Traveler’s own reactions and buffs.
That is why Electro, Cryo, and Anemo characters dominate every good Cryo Traveler lineup. Electro units trigger Stellar Conduct on enemies. Anemo units trigger Stellar Swirl. A second Cryo unit adds off-field Cryo and, in many cases, a direct Stellar damage bonus for the whole party.
Premium team: Cryo MC + Odette + Yae Miko + Sucrose
This is the top-end Cryo Traveler team. The Traveler and Odette both enable Stellar Glimmer, so they only need teammates who keep Electro and Anemo on the field. Yae Miko covers the Electro side, setting up consistent off-field application without eating any field time. Sucrose handles the Anemo side, driving Stellar Swirl while raising the whole team’s Elemental Mastery.
Rotation: Yae Miko, then Odette, then Sucrose, then Cryo MC. Sucrose and the Cryo Traveler take turns on the field to keep reactions flowing. If you need more Stellar Swirl, you can play Sucrose as the main DPS, adding extra Anemo attacks before you restart the cycle.
You can swap Yae Miko for Yumemizuki Mizuki to run a full Stellar-Swirl version with Mizuki as the on-field driver. Yae Miko remains the stronger pick in most cases, since her off-field Electro output is hard to replace.
Free-to-play Hexerei team: Cryo MC + Fischl + Alyosha + Prune
This team leans on the Cryo Traveler as the on-field main DPS. Fischl and Prune set the field with off-field Electro and Anemo while activating the Hexerei buff, which raises both their damage and their utility. Fischl times her off-field Electro hits with the Traveler’s Normal attacks, so more Stellar Conduct lands on enemies. Prune is the only Anemo unit here, meaning every Stellar Swirl runs through her, and she also buffs the Traveler’s Stellar Swirl damage.
Alyosha marks enemies with his Hunter’s Mark and summons Tugarin with his Elemental Burst. He also raises the Traveler’s ATK% and applies Electro every two seconds, especially on marked targets. The rotation runs Alyosha, then Fischl, then Prune, then Cryo MC. You can briefly return to Fischl and use her Elemental Burst to refresh her Elemental Skill.
Free-to-play reaction team: Cryo MC + Sucrose + Diona + Alyosha
This lineup skips the Hexerei buff and instead stacks Elemental Mastery and resistance shred. It is a territorial team, since Sucrose, Diona, and Alyosha all have Skills and Bursts that only work inside a set area. Keep the enemies and the Cryo Traveler standing inside those zones.
Diona gives steady Cryo and adds 200 Elemental Mastery to the Traveler while they stand in her Burst AoE. Sucrose’s Skill and Burst create their own AoE, ideally layered over Diona’s, granting up to 200 Elemental Mastery to the team while shredding Electro and Cryo resistance. The Mastery pushes Stellar reaction damage higher, and the resistance shred boosts normal reactions and the Traveler’s own damage.
Flexible replacements by role
If you are missing a listed unit, fill the slot by role. Keep at least one strong Electro source for Stellar-Conduct teams and at least one Anemo source for Stellar-Swirl teams, then add a second Cryo character for extra off-field Cryo and buffs.

A note on constellations: Alyosha is not recommended as your only Electro character at C0 and does not clearly beat a third Cryo unit until at least C2. A C6 Beidou can outperform a C0 Alyosha as the solo Electro slot, since her C6 lowers Cryo and Electro resistance and adds Elemental Mastery to the active character.
Whichever version you run, the check is the same: watch for Stellar Conduct and Stellar Swirl proccing on nearly every rotation. If reactions stop firing, you are usually short on either Electro or Anemo uptime, and swapping in a second applier from the table fixes it.
