The wrecked trains near Rankova Zorya hide three Panicked Jack Frosts, and a Separated Jack Frost wants you to save them after a Volkodlak attack scattered the group. Each one is trapped inside a train car with the door sealed, so you cannot just walk in. The whole puzzle runs on the Snezhnaya building system, and once you understand how it works, the rescue takes only a few minutes.
Quick answer: Build a Link Mechanism in front of each sealed train so it connects with the Link Mechanism already inside, enter it, then exit while you are inside the car to let the Jack Frost out. For the third Jack Frost up the cliff, wait for the Separated Jack Frost to trigger a Polestar Field (or make one yourself with a Stellar-Conduct reaction) to upgrade your Link Mechanism, then ride it to the upper train.
What you need before starting
The rescue depends on Prime Ice Constructs, the placeable structures you unlock after meeting the Eye of Graeae early in Snezhnaya. Without that access, you cannot build the Link Mechanism the puzzle requires. The Link Mechanism is one of the nine Prime Ice Constructs and works as a fast-travel link between two matching Link Mechanisms, which is exactly how you slip past the closed train doors.
Note: If you have Prime Ice Construct sharing turned on, other players’ structures can appear at the site. You can clear those from the map’s Manage Prime Ice Constructs toggle if they get in your way.

The wreckage sits between Hunter’s Cabin and Rankova Zorya. Teleport to the waypoint north of Hunter’s Cabin, then head northeast toward the Rankova Zorya train station until you reach the ruined train cars where the Jack Frosts are hiding.

Another route is to teleport to the Chimeric Winged Lion boss waypoint and walk west to the same wreckage. When you arrive, talk to the Separated Jack Frost, who explains that its three Panicked friends need help. From here you can see all three trapped companions spread across the site.

How the Link Mechanism rescue works
Each Panicked Jack Frost slams its train door shut before you can enter. To get around this, you build a Link Mechanism outside the car that pairs with the Link Mechanism already placed inside it. Traveling through the link drops you inside the sealed car, and then you exit the link so the Jack Frost realizes it is safe to leave.

Two of the three Jack Frosts sit at ground level and only need this basic Link Mechanism trick. The third one is up on a cliff and cannot be reached until your Link Mechanism is upgraded by a Polestar Field, so save it for last.

Reach Panicked Jack Frost #3 on the cliff
The third car sits higher up, and a standard Link Mechanism will not stretch to it. You need a Polestar Field to enhance the Link Mechanism first. In most playthroughs, the Separated Jack Frost triggers the Polestar Field automatically once you have caught the first two Panicked Jack Frosts, which is why you tackle this one last.

If it does not trigger on its own, you can create a Polestar Field yourself by setting off a Stellar-Conduct reaction. There are enemies stationed under the third Jack Frost you can use for this. If you already cleared them earlier, just focus on the automatic Polestar Field from the Separated Jack Frost.

Claim the final Precious chest
Once all three Panicked Jack Frosts are safe, head back to the middle of the wreckage. A Precious chest spawns there as the final reward for reuniting the group. Opening it confirms the puzzle is complete.

| Objective | Chest reward |
|---|---|
| Free Panicked Jack Frost #1 | Remarkable chest |
| Free Panicked Jack Frost #2 | Common chest |
| Free Panicked Jack Frost #3 (cliff) | Exquisite chest |
| Reunite all three | Precious chest (spawns in the middle) |
If a Jack Frost refuses to leave its car, check that you exited the Link Mechanism while standing inside the train rather than outside it, since that is the cue it uses to feel safe. And if you cannot reach the top car, the Polestar Field has not been applied yet, so return to the Separated Jack Frost or trigger a Stellar-Conduct reaction before trying the link again.
