Genshin Impact Sunny Summer Fontinalia: How to Unlock the Event and Free Charlotte

Everything you need to clear the Fontinalia Film Festival aquarium, its three minigames, and claim Charlotte for free.

Everything you need to clear the Fontinalia Film Festival aquarium, its three minigames, and claim Charlotte for free.

Sunny Summer Fontinalia is the summer festival event that arrived with Genshin Impact Version 6.7 Luna VIII. You spend most of it running a newly opened aquarium aboard The Wingalet, Wriothesley’s airship, by playing three connected minigames and pouring the money you earn back into upgrades. Finish enough of it and you get a free copy of “Lens of Verity” Charlotte (Cryo) plus her new outfit.

Quick answer: Start the quest “Should We Meet Again” to open the full event, then earn Funds through Operation Deep-Dive Treasure, Curio Ledger, and Kaleido-Catch. Spend those Funds in the Marvelous Abilities tab to raise Venue Popularity, which unlocks Charlotte and her outfit. The minigames are only playable until the event closes on 2026/08/11 03:59 (server time).

Requirements and how long the event lasts

To take part, your account has to meet a few basic conditions. The minigames run for a limited window, but the story portion sticks around permanently once the version updates, so there’s no rush on the narrative side.

Note: For the best experience, HoYoverse recommends clearing the Archon Quest Song of the Welkin Moon – Act X before you begin, since the event ties into that thread.

Unlocking the full event

The event’s quests are not time-gated. The three chapters, “Should We Meet Again,” “Those We Have Lost,” and “Those We Have Kept,” can all be opened on the same day.

Play the “Should We Meet Again” quest. This is the gate that opens the complete aquarium management side of the event.
Head to the aquarium aboard The Wingalet. From here you access the three minigames and the Marvelous Abilities tab where upgrades live.

The three minigames and how they work

All three activities feed the same currency, Funds. You collect treasures and creatures underwater, sell them at the shop, and net fish for points. Each one has its own rules to keep in mind.

Operation Deep-Dive Treasure

You dive into underwater zones to gather collectibles and capture aquatic creatures, which are your main source of income. Items sit on the sea floor or inside chests that open under different conditions, such as clearing nearby enemies, cutting vines, or simply getting close enough.

Use Fontaine’s Xenochromatic Fontemer powers to stun creatures before you collect them for the aquarium. Enemies fight back and can down your character, and once your HP is gone you’re forced to surface early with only part of what you found. Stay out of attack range and lean on your Xenochromatic abilities to hold safe positions.

Your inventory is limited, so arrange items carefully as you go. Each stage also has a set of commissions, and you pick one at the start of an operation before moving on, switching between them freely and clearing more than one per dive. You expand inventory space and combat power through Marvelous Abilities.

Curio Ledger

Curio Ledger is the souvenir shop where you sell everything you salvaged underwater. Stand behind the counter and serve passersby who show interest in your stock. The round runs until you run out of items or time, whichever comes first.

When a customer wants something, an exclamation mark appears over their head and they walk up. A speech bubble shows the item. Walk to that part of the stall until the item area glows, then press the sell button. You sell one unit at a time, so a request for five means five button presses.

Sometimes a customer asks for something you haven’t displayed. Stand on the spot where they’re waiting, open your inventory, and swap to the correct item to complete the sale. Every customer has a patience meter, so serve them quickly or they leave without buying.

Kaleido-Catch

Kaleido-Catch is a fishing game built around net size. You have small, medium, and large nets, and your score depends on the size and number of fish you land. Match the net to the fish: small nets for small fish, medium for medium, large for large. The round ends when the stage timer runs out.

Tip: Watch for Anglertides during a session. Those windows let you catch rare, high-value fish, so time your best nets around them.

Spending Funds in Marvelous Abilities

The Marvelous Abilities tab is where your earnings turn into stronger tools. Most upgrades cost Funds, which you build up across all three minigames. Each minigame has its own upgrade branch.

MinigameUpgrades available
Operation Deep-Dive TreasureCombat power, higher HP, more inventory slots, faster movement, lower stamina use
Curio LedgerHigher sale prices, more sale slots, additional aquarium tanks
Kaleido-CatchMore starting Catch Credits, higher catch rate for all fish

Main commissions and their rewards

Main commissions are the required objectives that unlock new water zones, new facilities, and the two shop minigames. They range from hitting Funds targets to hauling specific bosses out of each water zone. Completing them is how you push the event forward and open more content.

How to get Charlotte and her outfit for free

The headline reward is “Lens of Verity” Charlotte (Cryo), the free 4-star pickup. Completing event tasks raises your Venue Popularity, and once it hits the required level you can invite Charlotte to your party. The same track also hands over her outfit, “Hurlock Variations,” along with Primogems, a Crown of Insight, Character Ascension and Level-Up materials, indoor and outdoor furnishings, and Fontaine Local Specialties.

You’ll know it worked when Venue Popularity reaches the invite threshold and Charlotte becomes selectable to join your team, with the outfit added to her appearance options. If you miss it during the event, the “Hurlock Variations” outfit moves to the Character Outfit Shop after Luna VIII ends, priced at 1,680 Genesis Crystals.

There’s also a separate reward track through the Story Quest “Sunny Summer Fontinalia,” which grants extra Primogems, Character Ascension Materials, Character Level-Up Materials, and Fontaine Local Specialties. Since that quest stays available after the event ends, you can chase the free Charlotte and her outfit before the 2026/08/11 03:59 cutoff, then come back for the story on your own schedule.
