Grand Blue: How to Get the Trickster Fighting Style

Trickster is the one fighting style in Grand Blue you cannot simply buy off a trainer and walk away with. It is gated behind a two-island quest chain, a boss farm with a stingy drop rate, and five separate training objectives handed out by the same NPC. Miss a step early and the trainer will not even appear.

Quick answer: Finish Loki’s “Feed The Hungry” quest at the Anchor Town harbor, farm Mone, the Hoarder until you get and learn both the Pocket Sand and Pickpocket scrolls, then sail to Clown Town, climb the Ferris wheel, pay Loki 1,000 Gold, and clear his five training quests.

Trickster unlock requirements in Grand Blue

Everything below has to be done before the Clown Town half of the chain will function. The order matters, because the second Loki spawn is tied to the first one being cleared.

Anchor Town: Feed The Hungry and the Hoarder scroll farm

Head to the docks in Anchor Town and look along the right side of the harbor area, near the water. Loki is sitting there. Talk to him, take the “Feed The Hungry” quest, and collect the four food items he asks for around town before handing them in.

Fight Mone, the Hoarder, the Level 30 boss in Anchor Town, and keep resetting the kill. The two scrolls you need drop at about a 10 percent rate each, so expect a long stretch of repeat runs rather than a couple of lucky pulls.

Learn both scrolls once they drop. Pocket Sand and Pickpocket need to be active skills on your character, since the first two Clown Town objectives are built entirely around using them.

Note: Skipping either half of the Anchor Town work is the single most common reason players get stuck. Without the completed quest and both learned skills, the Clown Town Loki does not spawn at all, and there is no alternate route into the style.

Finding Loki on the Clown Town Ferris wheel

Spawn your boat at the Anchor Town dock and sail to Clown Town. Once you land, make your way to the Ferris wheel, which is the tallest structure in the area and hard to miss.

Climb the wheel using its beams, spokes, and passenger cars as platforms. Loki is seated in one of the carriages partway up, so you will need to jump between components rather than take a direct path.

Interact with him and pay the 1,000 Gold fee. That purchase gives you the Trickster style itself and opens the five-quest training line that fills out its kit.

Loki’s five Trickster training quests

Each quest unlocks the skill the next one depends on, so the chain has to be run in order. Return to Loki after every completion to claim the reward and pick up the following task.

Pickpocket 100 silver from NPCs and land Pocket Sand on targets. Finishing this pair of objectives unlocks the Cheap Shot passive, which applies bleed or concussion when you attack an enemy from behind.

Land Cheap Shot 25 times. Because the passive only triggers from behind, the fastest approach is circling slower melee enemies and hitting them once their attack animation commits. This unlocks Party Trick, the Trickster invisibility skill.

Use Party Trick to break enemy aggro. Pull NPCs, go invisible while they are actively chasing you, and let them lose track of you. Doing this enough times unlocks Poisoned Shiv.

Deal 750 poison damage with Poisoned Shiv. Only the damage-over-time ticks count toward the total, so apply the poison and let it run its course instead of finishing targets immediately. Clearing this unlocks Jack in the Box.

Scare 50 NPCs with Jack in the Box traps. Placing them in busy town areas where civilians walk past is far quicker than hunting individual targets. This is the final objective in the chain.

Trickster skills and stat changes

You know the chain is finished when Loki has no further quest to hand out and the full skill set appears in your menu. The style also applies a permanent stat trade-off while equipped.

Unlock	What it does
Cheap Shot	Passive. Attacks from behind inflict bleed or concussion.
Party Trick	Turns you invisible, used to drop enemy aggro.
Poisoned Shiv	Applies poison damage over time.
Jack in the Box	Placeable trap that scares targets.
Stat modifiers	+10% Agility, -5% Health.

If you want to swap back to another style later, the closet inside the Food Fod building at the Anchor Town Plaza opens your Fighting Style and Fruits inventory. Take the stairs on the right side of the building, enter the room, and interact with the closet. Unlocking Trickster is permanent, so switching away and back costs nothing beyond the trip.
