Reanimation Liquid is the fluid that turns a prepared corpse into a working zombie in Graveyard Keeper 2. Each resurrection burns exactly one, so building a real zombie workforce means brewing your own instead of buying a limited supply. The recipe combines clay, alcohol and salt at a laboratory bench, but you cannot touch it until you have cleared a specific reputation and technology gate.

Quick answer: After Gunter teaches you the recipe, make it at a Laboratory II table. Start with 2 red runes, 1 green rune and 4 blue runes; add 1 clay, then 1 alcohol and 1 salt.

Unlock the Reanimation Liquid recipe first

The recipe is locked behind Gunter the Astrologer’s progression, so you will spend a good chunk of the game before it becomes available. Three conditions gate it.

  • Complete the The Ingenious Gentleman Don Keyote quest.
  • Reach 20 reputation with Gunter the Astrologer.
  • Have Battle Potions II unlocked as a prerequisite technology.

Gunter’s Necronomicon questline becomes available at 20 reputation, and later stages require higher standing, so keep earning his favor. After meeting the requirements, spend 30 red, 40 green, 50 blue points to research Reanimation Liquid. This purchase also opens Alcohol production, which the mixture requires.

Craft Reanimation Liquid at Laboratory II

The recipe uses three ingredients, and only a Laboratory II table has enough slots to hold all three. Head to the Alchemy Lab and set up that bench before you begin. Match this rune formula.

  • 2 Red Runes
  • 1 Green Rune
  • 4 Blue Runes

With the runes set, add the ingredients in this exact order: 1 clay, 1 alcohol, then 1 salt. The table produces one Reanimation Liquid per batch.

IngredientAmountWhere to get it
Clay1Clay spots or the Clay Digger Stand
Alcohol1Distillation Cube, or Apothecary for 50 bronze
Salt1Crematorium I/II, or Apothecary/Baker for 20 bronze

Alcohol is the ingredient most players overlook. It is made separately at the Distillation Cube from wine, clay urns and fuel, so do not try to distill the finished liquid there. Salt comes from burning bodies at the Crematorium, and clay is one of the easiest early materials to gather. You know the craft worked when a Reanimation Liquid appears in your inventory.

Buy it from Gunter as a stopgap

If you need a bottle before your lab is ready, Gunter sells Reanimation Liquid for seven silver each once the recipe is unlocked. The town Alchemist stocks it too. The catch is stock: both traders run out, so buying alone will never sustain a growing zombie crew. Crafting is the only way to control your own supply.

Use the liquid to resurrect a zombie

Select Prepare at the Resurrection Table to use Reanimation Liquid. It must be placed in accessible storage in that room, rather than kept in your backpack. If the table says the liquid is missing while you carry some, put it in a chest in the room.

For a successful revival, use a corpse with all vital organs intact, have enough Faith, and provide a suitable Zombie Collar. Pair each liquid with one bronze zombie collar. The resurrection room only receives power on the day bearing the Envy symbol, so stock the table, press Prepare, and activate the Resurrection Device when that day arrives. The revived zombie then appears as a worker ready for assignment.

Zombie workers are capped by a weekly limit, so brewing extra liquid ahead of that ceiling wastes materials until you raise the cap.
