Unstable Goo is a Tier 2 crafting resource in Grounded 2, described in-game as a nasty glowing substance that might explode. You can produce it on demand at the Oven, and you can also pull it straight from certain robotic enemies out in the yard.

Quick answer: Bake Unstable Goo (x3) at the Oven using 1 Spicy Shard, 1 Mint Shard, and 1 Purple Jelly Chunk. If you would rather skip crafting, harvest the remains of O.R.C. Weevils, which drop Unstable Goo at a high rate.

Oven recipe for Unstable Goo

The Oven recipe is the reliable way to make Unstable Goo whenever you need it. Each bake returns three units, so a single batch of ingredients goes a long way.

IngredientQuantity per bake
Spicy Shard1
Mint Shard1
Purple Jelly Chunk1
OutputUnstable Goo x3

Where to find the crafting ingredients

Two of the three ingredients cluster around the same area, which makes gathering simple. Use the Map screen search filter to mark each material and see every discovered node at once.

Purple Jelly Chunk

Purple Jelly Chunks sit underwater in the Skunk Pond and Gnarly Bark areas. Filtering the Map for “purp” surfaces a spread of these nodes across both regions, so plan an underwater run to scoop them up.

Spicy Shard

Spicy Shards are concentrated in the Ice Cream Cart biome. They show up densely enough there that one trip usually covers your crafting needs.

Mint Shard

Mint Shards also appear in the Ice Cream Cart biome, with a strong presence in the cave underneath it. Because both shards live in the same area, you can grab your Spicy and Mint Shards in a single loop before heading back to the Oven.

Craft Unstable Goo in the Oven

Return to your base and interact with the Oven. Selecting it brings up the interaction options, including take all, relocate, bake, and recycle.

Open the Bake menu and find the Unstable Goo (x3) recipe. Confirm you are carrying 1 Spicy Shard, 1 Mint Shard, and 1 Purple Jelly Chunk so the recipe is available.
Start the bake. When it finishes, three Unstable Goo appear in the Oven’s output, and you can grab them with the take-all option.

If the Bake option is greyed out, you are missing at least one of the three ingredients. Restock the item that is short and the recipe becomes selectable again.

Harvest Unstable Goo from O.R.C. Weevils

Unstable Goo also drops from O.R.C. Creatures, and O.R.C. Weevils are the most direct source. Defeat one and use the Harvest Remains prompt to collect the goo. The drop rate is high, so clearing a few of them nets several units quickly.

These enemies tend to guard Ranger Outposts, O.R.C. Transmitters, and the Network Center, and areas like the picnic blanket zone hold several at once. They respawn over time, making that spot a repeatable farm whenever you run low.

What Unstable Goo is used for

Unstable Goo feeds into consumables, a trinket, and a couple of furnishings. Stock a small reserve if you plan to craft the Flashfurter or the Volatile Capacitor, since both lean on it.

Between the Oven recipe and the O.R.C. Weevil drops, you have both a crafted supply and a farmable one. Keep a stack on hand and you will be ready whenever a blueprint calls for that glowing goo.
