The Jandel Monkey is the standout Mythic pet in Grow a Garden 2, built around Jandel, the creator of the original Grow a Garden. It is a monkey in a golden crown with fiery orange patterns and Robux-style gems around the base, modeled on the developer’s Roblox avatar. You cannot buy it with Sheckles or Robux, and it never spawns on the map, which is what makes it so hard to pin down.
Quick answer: Open Eggs earned as weekly Guild rewards for a 0.3% chance at a Jandel Monkey, or open an Admin Chest for a direct 0.02% chance. Admin Chests only appear during developer-hosted Admin Parties.

Both ways to get the Jandel Monkey
There are two paths to this pet, and both come down to luck. The first runs through the Guilds system, which hands out Eggs as weekly rewards. The second is the Admin Chest, which the developers pass out to a small number of players during Admin Parties.
Every Egg carries a 0.3% chance to hatch a Jandel Monkey. The variant you can get depends on which Egg you open, and each Egg ties back to a specific source.
| Egg | Source | Variant you can hatch |
|---|---|---|
| Common Egg | Weekly Guild reward | Normal Jandel Monkey |
| Big Egg | Weekly Guild reward | Big Jandel Monkey |
| Rainbow Egg | Weekly Guild reward | Rainbow-mutated Jandel Monkey |
| Mega Egg | Admin Chest | Mega Jandel Monkey |
The Common, Big, and Rainbow Eggs all arrive through Guild rewards, so joining a Guild and collecting your weekly Egg is the reliable, repeatable route. The Mega Egg is the exception. It only comes out of the Admin Chest, which means the Mega variant is locked behind those developer events.

Admin Chests are given out during Admin Parties, live events the developers host inside public servers. During these parties, the developers set players various challenges and reward the Admin Chest to a select few who complete them.
The chest matters for two reasons. It holds the Mega Egg, and it can also drop a Jandel Monkey directly at a 0.02% chance. The Jandel Monkey is the only pet inside the Admin Chest, so it is the single chase reward of the entire chest.
The pet went live on August 1, 2026, and the first Grow a Garden 2 Admin Party ran on August 2, 2026. That party has already ended. No official date for the next Admin Party is currently confirmed, so the weekly Guild-reward Eggs are the dependable way to keep rolling for one right now.
What the Jandel Monkey does
Once active, the Jandel Monkey swings around your garden and, on a fixed timer, summons a random weather event for everyone on the server. It is the only pet in Grow a Garden 2 that offers a server-wide effect, so a single one in a lobby benefits every player present.

How often it triggers depends on the variant. The bigger the variant, the shorter the gap between weather rolls.
| Variant | Weather trigger interval |
|---|---|
| Normal | Every 15 minutes |
| Big | Every 12 minutes |
| Mega | Every 9 minutes |
Weather summoned this way is capped by a 10-minute cooldown, so a fresh event will not fire until that window clears. Rain and Lightning are the events it rolls most often. Because the Mega variant only comes from the Mega Egg, its 9-minute cadence is the rarest and hardest to secure.
Variants and pet mutations
Beyond the size variants, the Jandel Monkey can roll a pet mutation. Grow a Garden 2 uses Big and Huge mutations, a rare appearance change that boosts a pet’s effect. The Big mutation roughly doubles a pet’s passive strength, and the Huge mutation is rarer still. Spawn odds for these mutations are very low.
Note: The Rainbow Egg produces the Rainbow-mutated version, so which Egg you open decides both the size tier and the mutation you have a shot at.
How to know it worked
You will know an Egg gave you a Jandel Monkey when the hatch reveals the crowned monkey and it appears in your pet collection under Mythic rarity. Equip it, and you will see it swing around your plot and kick off a server-wide weather event once the timer for its variant elapses.
If your Eggs keep hatching other pets, nothing is broken. At a 0.3% drop rate, most openings will not produce one, so the practical plan is to claim your Guild Eggs every week and keep opening. It is a coveted collectible precisely because Sheckles and Robux cannot buy your way past that low roll.
