Halloween: The Game — How to Arrest Michael Myers

Fill Michael's arrest meter with police pressure, knock him down, then finish the Arrest prompt as a cop or Dr. Loomis to end the match.

Michael Myers cannot be killed in Halloween: The Game. The Shape shrugs off gunfire and gets back up after every knockdown, so the only way to remove him from a match is to have the authorities take him into custody. That outcome shows up on the result screen as MICHAEL DETAINED!, and reaching it means lining up several conditions at the same time rather than simply dealing enough damage.

Quick answer: Get police into the match, put one human player into spectator mode so they can call Dr. Loomis on the CB radio (or return as an officer via Police Reinforcements), keep Michael surrounded by police until his handcuff arrest meter fills, knock him down, then hold interact to complete the Arrest minigame before he stands up.

What you need before an arrest is possible

An arrest only works once the match reaches a specific state. Failed attempts look almost identical to successful ones right up until the final seconds, because Michael can be stunned, shot, and downed long before he is actually ready to be cuffed. If your team keeps knocking him over and he keeps standing back up, one of the pieces below is still missing.

RequirementHow it enters the match
Police presenceCall the police from a phone, or convince residents to use their Call For Help option.
A spectatorOne human player escapes or dies, then enters spectator mode.
Dr. Loomis or an officerThe spectator calls Loomis on a CB radio, or returns as police through Reinforcements.
Stun toolsFirearms, throwables, flashlights, and flare guns to keep Michael contained.
Enough surviving playersPeople to hold Michael near the police while the meter builds.

Bringing a human-controlled officer or Loomis is the key detail. NPC officers wander and will not finish the cuff on their own, so a real player has to occupy that role.

Get police into Haddonfield first

Head to any working phone and complete the conversational minigame to make a convincing call for help. You get two attempts, and both have to succeed for the call to go through.
Talk to as many residents as you can find. Complete the minigame to convince them they are in danger, then use their Call For Help dialogue so they contact the police too. More calls mean more authority figures on the map for the arrest attempt later.

Michael can shut down any of these calls by cutting the phone lines or attacking the caller mid-conversation, so expect to make more than one attempt across the match.

Bring in Dr. Loomis or a returning officer

The unusual requirement is spectator access. At least one human player has to leave the active civilian side and enter spectator mode, which is what unlocks the next stage. If a safe escape is already available, letting one teammate take it is far cleaner than feeding a healthy civilian to Michael on purpose. The goal is spectator access, not an extra death.

Have the spectating player reach a CB radio, marked on both the map and the HUD. Completing the call there brings Dr. Loomis into the active match as a player who can perform the arrest.
As an alternative, the spectator can keep completing spectator-side minigames until Reinforcements Available appears. Taking that opportunity returns the player to the match as a police officer, who counts for the arrest just like Loomis.

If the Loomis call is already available, use it rather than waiting on Reinforcements, since Reinforcements rely on chance and only delay the part of the match that matters. Once your officer or Loomis is active, stop lingering at the radio and move to wherever police and Michael can be brought together.

Fill the arrest meter with police pressure

The arrest meter is a handcuff icon that appears on Michael and fills only while police or Loomis stay close to him. This is the condition to protect. Chasing Michael across empty yards may feel like progress, but pulling him away from the officers works against the arrest even while your team keeps hitting him.

Stuns become valuable here because of what happens after the interruption. A firearm, a throwable, or a flashlight can freeze Michael in place. If those seconds happen next to several officers, the meter keeps climbing. If he is stunned alone at the far end of the street, you have dealt damage without advancing the detainment. Save enough control tools for this phase instead of spending everything annoying him early.

A POLICE WAGON CALLED message on the HUD is a sign the sequence has moved past ordinary harassment. When that appears alongside the handcuff indicator, stay with the pressure you have built rather than breaking off to search houses.

Tip: Michael’s Bloodthirst power bar raises his stun resistance and recovery, so a highly aggressive Shape takes more hits to knock down. Each successful knockdown also drains a large chunk of that bar before he gets up.

Knock Michael down and finish the Arrest prompt

A knockdown only counts once the arrest meter is already full. Downing Michael before that just wastes firepower and lets him rise again.

With the meter full, hit Michael with as much firepower as you can. Ranged weapons work well, and blinding him with flashlights and flare guns while other players land melee hits helps force the knockdown.
As soon as he goes down, the human officer or Loomis should already be close. Look for the Arrest prompt on the downed Michael and hold interact to start the short input minigame.
Complete that minigame before Michael recovers. His downed state does not last forever, and if the interaction finishes, the match ends immediately with the MICHAEL DETAINED! result screen. Remaining civilians do not need to complete a separate car or storm cellar escape afterward.

To buy more time on the ground, bring Laurie Strode. Her Knockout character trait extends how long Michael stays incapacitated, and perks that boost that duration or your Poise stat make both the knockdown and the finish more reliable.

Why arrests fail and when to escape instead

Most failed attempts come from the same mistakes. Michael standing back up during the animation usually means the arrest meter was not full, or no human officer was in range for the prompt to appear. He can also still hurt players while down, so a low-health teammate rushing in can lose the final interaction even after the team completed every hard part of the setup. Commit one player to the Arrest prompt while the others protect the space around them, since piling everyone directly on Michael does not make the minigame finish faster.

The arrest route is the hardest way to win, and it becomes fragile when several prerequisites are still missing late in the match. A strong attempt already has police active, a spectator on the CB radio, Loomis or Reinforcements in play, at least one stun option, and enough survivors to hold Michael in place. If the storm cellar is open, nobody has reached the radio, and your weapons are running dry, taking the escape is the completed win rather than the lesser one. Repeated knockdowns away from officers are not a sign you are close; if the meter is not building, the sequence still has a gap to fill.
