The Red Emperor only appears in Sea 3, which means the Gryphon is out of reach until you have progressed that far. The boss shows up in the Black Throne Room on the Land of the Gods island. That room sits inside the biggest building on the island and holds no regular mob enemies, so you can walk in and prepare for the fight directly.
When you enter, a countdown message appears telling you when the boss is due. It reads along the lines of “Boss spawns in 4:00:00 (reduced by 0 minutes).” The Red Emperor spawns on a four-hour timer by default.
Tip: You can shorten that wait. Every time a superboss is killed anywhere in the server, the Red Emperor’s spawn cooldown drops by 10 minutes. Farming superbosses across the map and returning to the throne room is the fastest way to bring the timer down.
Beating the Red Emperor boss
This is a Level 7000 fight with a large health pool of 530,108 HP, and the boss hits hard enough to remove more than a thousand HP with a single strike. Standing next to it for long stretches is risky, so range and mobility matter more than raw melee pressure here.

Gryphon moveset and Mastery unlocks
The Gryphon comes with three abilities, but only the first is active the moment you equip it. The other two unlock as you raise the sword’s Mastery by defeating enemies while it is equipped.
