Hildir is one of three traders in Valheim, and she runs her camp inside the Meadows biome. She deals almost entirely in clothing, with a few home-decor and building items mixed in, and her starting shelves are deliberately bare. Recovering three stolen chests from special dungeons opens up the rest of her wardrobe, including the Harvest set that boosts your Farming skill.
Quick answer: Find Hildir in the Meadows, use her map table to mark the dungeons, then defeat each miniboss and return one Brass, one Silver, and one Bronze chest to unlock her full stock.

Where to find Hildir in the Meadows
Hildir spawns in the Meadows biome, but her exact location depends on your world seed, so coordinates from another player will not match yours. Her camp sits in a ring roughly 3,000 to 5,100 meters from the world center, and there are ten possible spawn spots per world, each at least 1,000 meters apart. Approaching any one of them locks her camp to that point permanently.
Because you outgrow the starting Meadows quickly, you will usually need to sail to distant islands to reach her ring. Once you get close, a shirt icon appears on your map, pointing you the rest of the way. Her camp is a wagon-and-tent setup guarded by a shimmering dome that keeps hostile creatures out, so you can trade safely and return whenever you like.
Drop a Portal just outside the dome as soon as you arrive. It turns every future shopping run into a quick hop instead of another long voyage.

Hildir’s camp was raided, and she needs three chests recovered before she restocks. A map table stands right beside her; interacting with it marks the dungeon locations across your world with question marks. Each dungeon holds a miniboss that drops one chest type when defeated.
Up to three copies of each dungeon generate per world, but you only need to clear one of each type to open her full catalog. Any extra chests you collect are cosmetic and can be used as base decorations.
| Chest | Dungeon (Biome) | Miniboss |
|---|---|---|
| Brass Chest | Smouldering Tomb (Black Forest) | Brenna |
| Silver Chest | Howling Cavern (Mountains) | Geirrhafa |
| Bronze Chest | Sealed Tower (Plains) | Zil and Thungr |
Each chest weighs 200 and takes up a single inventory slot. Head to the nearest copy of each dungeon, defeat the miniboss, grab the chest, and carry it back to Hildir. Turning in a chest immediately adds its matching items to her shop.
Hildir’s chests cannot pass through a standard Portal on default settings. Only the Ashlands-tier Portal stone can teleport them, so plan a boat trip to bring each chest home. Returning a chest also triggers a new raid event where that dungeon’s boss and its minions attack your base.

How to confirm the stock unlocked
You will know a chest was accepted when Hildir’s trade menu instantly gains the matching set of clothing. Only one chest of each type can be returned, so extras stay in your inventory as decor. Once all three are handed in, her shop shows every item listed above, and the stat effects stay the same no matter which order you unlock them in.
Stock up on Coins before your trips by selling valuables such as Amber, Amber Pearls, Rubies, and Silver Necklaces to any trader. With a Portal at her camp and enough coins in hand, Hildir becomes a reliable stop for work clothes, farming gear, and a fresh haircut whenever you pass through the Meadows.
