Everything Pearl needs to work as an Elation sustain, from her signature Light Cone to the four-character teams that unlock her extra turn.

In Honkai: Star Rail, Pearl is a 5-star Ice unit who follows the Path of Elation. She is the first sustain designed for a team made entirely of Elation characters. Her kit offers healing, shields, debuff cleansing, and an accelerated turn for one ally, while many of its strongest effects depend on how many Elation teammates are present. Build around that number and she becomes an Elation-focused amplifier rather than a generic healer.

Quick answer: Run Pearl as the sustain in a four-Elation team with Colors for Tomorrow, a 4-piece Dreamlit Actor set, and the Sprightly Vonwacq ornament. Target 2,400 DEF and 160+ SPD.

Pearl best build summary

Pearl needs very little vertical investment. Good gear and correct stat targets matter far more than pulling Eidolons, and she performs well even at Eidolon 0. The setup below is her default support build.

Trace leveling follows Ultimate first, then Talent, Elation Skill, Skill, and Basic ATK last. For her major traces, prioritize Sensory Latitude, then Aesthetic Firewall, then Panoptic Vision.

DEF and SPD targets for Pearl

DEF powers most of Pearl’s numbers. Her Skill, her enhanced Basic ATK healing, and her signature Light Cone all scale off it, and one of her traces converts DEF into offense. Reach 2,400 DEF to activate Panoptic Vision, which grants 32% Elation. Every additional 100 DEF adds 3% Elation, counted up to 3,600 DEF, and 20% of that Elation is turned into Outgoing Healing. The DEF target therefore strengthens both her damage contribution and her sustain.

After reaching 2,400 DEF, shift your focus to SPD: target 160+, with 180 as the ideal. Faster turns let Pearl generate more Certified Banger, build Deep Learning charges sooner, and gain Energy more quickly. DEF does not affect her defensive resource: every Certified Banger point gives a fixed 200 Repellency, which prevents 60% of incoming damage to an ally. Her allies’ turns are what generate Banger.

Her Ultimate costs 180 Energy, so an Energy Regeneration Rope keeps her on a short cycle. Her traces already grant 10% Effect RES, which pairs neatly with sets that need an Effect RES threshold.

Best Light Cones for Pearl

Mushy Shroomy’s Adventures4-starBest free-to-play
Elation Brimming With Blessings5-starOwned-only fallback

Colors for Tomorrow is her best-in-slot and simplest choice. The Light Cone supplies up to 48% DEF. After Pearl uses her Elation Skill on the team, it heals every ally according to her DEF, restores Energy, and increases the damage enemies receive for three turns. Each extra Elation teammate raises the vulnerability, reaching 22% with four Elation characters; its substantial DEF boost also makes the 2,400 DEF target easy to reach.

Until the Flowers Bloom Again is the best pick if you own a spare copy. It stacks CRIT DMG and Energy Regeneration, boosts team CRIT, and restores Energy at the start of each wave. For a budget build, Mushy Shroomy’s Adventures gives flat Elation and adds an Elation vulnerability debuff after her Skill; run a DEF% Body if her healing feels low. Elation Brimming With Blessings is only worth using if it is already in your inventory, since its ATK stat does nothing for her.

Relics and Planar Ornaments

Dreamlit Actor (4-piece)

Dreamlit Actor is Pearl’s strongest complete set. Its 2-piece effect grants 6% SPD. With four pieces, targeting an ally with Pearl’s Skill or Ultimate gives them 16% Elation for three turns; holding at least 10 Certified Banger also grants all teammates 12% CRIT DMG for three turns. Her usual rotation triggers both bonuses: the Ultimate targets one ally, and allied turns steadily build Banger.

Two other sets fill the slot in specific cases. Diviner of Distant Reach works, but its personal CRIT Rate is wasted on a sustain and its team Elation buff does not stack, so keep it on Yao Guang instead. Messenger Traversing Hackerspace grants the team 12% SPD after Pearl’s Ultimate, which suits Silver Wolf LV.999 and Aventurine • Waveflair because both convert extra SPD into more Elation.

Sprightly Vonwacq and alternatives

Sprightly Vonwacq is the go-to ornament set. It grants 5% Energy Regeneration and, at 120 SPD, moves Pearl’s first action forward by 40%—a threshold she reaches without trouble. Broken Keel is the alternative when 10% team-wide CRIT DMG matters more than Energy; her trace’s Effect RES, together with substats, makes its 30% activation threshold easy to satisfy. Lushaka, the Sunken Seas is a niche option for boosting an ATK-scaling ally positioned first in the lineup.

Why the Elation count decides everything

Pearl’s Ultimate marks one ally as the Aesthetic Archetype and grants Deep Learning, letting that ally use an enhanced Basic ATK. She cannot mark herself, so you always need a teammate worth handing the action to. How much value the mark provides, and how strong her Elation Skill becomes, both scale with the number of Elation units on the field.

Elation unitsUltimate on ArchetypeElation Skill bonus
1+10% action advance10%
2+15% action advance15%
3+30% action advance20%
4+Extra turn + 30 Certified Banger and 60 Punchline40%

The four-character line is why her teams look so stubbornly mono-Elation. Three units is playable, but four turns the action advance into a full bonus turn and doubles the Elation Skill multiplier from 20% to 40%. Treat three Elation allies as a working team and four as a finished one.

The Archetype’s bonus turn supplies 30 Certified Banger and 60 Punchline, but both disappear as soon as that action finishes. Use them immediately with a unit able to spend Punchline; otherwise, you lose the tempo.

Best Pearl teams

Yao Guang is nearly indispensable. Her Skill Zone shares Elation with the whole party, directly increasing the marked carry’s Elation damage, and she enables Aha Instants that trigger each ally’s Elation Skill one after another. Get Yao Guang and Pearl first; fill the DPS and flex positions afterward.

Aventurine • WaveflairElation TrailblazerYao GuangPearl

Silver Wolf LV.999 forms the premium core. Her Talent turns collected Punchline into Hidden MMR, which supplies Energy and raises her CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG. Pearl’s bonus action delivers 60 Punchline for a sudden MMR spike, while their Ultimates often align to give Silver Wolf consecutive turns in a rotation. Fill the flex slot with Sparxie, Evanescia, or the Elation Trailblazer.

Evanescia has one of the tightest synergies. Her “Watch All Revels” trace converts 50% of any Certified Banger gained by a lower-priority teammate into her own, and Pearl qualifies, so every Banger Pearl generates partly feeds Evanescia’s damage and Energy. Mark her as the Archetype and the Banger-plus-Punchline package becomes a personal burst.

Aventurine • Waveflair can serve as both Archetype and secondary damage dealer, provided the team is committed to Elation; mixing Paths disables his only sole-Elation passive. Sparxie benefits from Pearl as well: her Ascension 4 trace grants extra Punchline and Thrill only when a fourth Elation character is on the team, and Pearl supplies that slot. The Elation Trailblazer is a free, accessible option for lower-investment accounts, reaching the four-Elation breakpoint and increasing the Elation Skill bonus from 20% to 40%.

Who to mark as the Aesthetic Archetype

Because Pearl’s own damage does not matter, the main call each fight is who receives Deep Learning. Pick the ally who gains the most from the Certified Banger and Punchline burst and whose Ultimate you want to speed up.

  • For the largest payoff, choose Silver Wolf LV.999: Punchline fuels her Energy and increases both CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG.
  • Evanescia when you want the burst converted into her own damage and Energy.
  • Aventurine • Waveflair brings additional AoE Elation hits, but only when the entire team follows Elation.
  • Pick Yao Guang when your priority is increasing how frequently she can use her Ultimate.

There is a second reason to pick an Elation ally. When the Archetype follows the Path of Elation, Pearl’s Aesthetic Firewall trace returns a flat 90 Energy to her on that ally’s next Ultimate, roughly half her own Ultimate cost. Marking a non-Elation ally forfeits both the enhanced Basic ATK and this refund.

How to pilot Pearl

Set up before combat by activating her Technique while your main carry is on the field; this places Deep Learning on the intended ally. If you enter without deciding who to mark, your first Ultimate goes to waste.
Open with Yao Guang’s Skill Zone to give the team shared Elation from the start, then let Pearl build Certified Banger across her allies’ turns.
Save Pearl’s Ultimate for just before your Elation carry’s burst window instead of casting as soon as it is ready. With four Elation characters, the Ultimate grants a complete extra turn; use it for the carry’s highest-damage sequence while the temporary Punchline is still available.
Cast Pearl’s Skill when the team needs healing or her Certified Banger supply is running short; it replenishes her healing and shield reserves together. When neither is needed, use her Basic ATK. Its enhanced form still heals and deals Ice Elation damage associated with the marked ally.

You know the build is working when Pearl sits above 2,400 DEF, her Ultimate advances your carry’s action, and her Repellency pool soaks incoming hits before anyone drops low enough to need healing.

Pearl Eidolons worth targeting

Pearl’s floor at Eidolon 0 is very high, so her Eidolons are optional. If you do invest, E2 and E6 are the clear power spikes.

EidolonPriorityEffect
E1HighAdds up to 60% Elation for all allies based on the Elation count, plus two per-battle revives.
E2Priority+15% team Elation DMG; Ultimate advances all Elation allies and doubles the extra-turn Banger and Punchline.
E4MediumDoubles the Elation Skill damage multiplier for all allies.
E6High+20% All-Type RES PEN during Deep Learning, plus a large Ice Elation hit on her enhanced Basic ATK.

For low spenders, her signature Light Cone or E1 gives the strongest first step, with the Light Cone locking in her DEF and Energy while E1 lifts the whole team’s damage. E2 is the best single breakpoint if you commit further, and E6 is her top-end ceiling. Above all, gear and stat targets carry the build, so a well-tuned Eidolon 0 Pearl already does the job an Elation team is built to give her.
