Alpha Tubster is the Wind-element alpha that patrols the shoreline of The Argent Strait in Breezy Plains, and it sits behind one of the most useful unlocks in the early Aniilog. Beating it opens the Chirpi evolution path into Tubster, and the fight itself is short once you stop feeding it attacks it resists.
Quick answer: Track the challenge in Elite Training, travel to the transporter in The Argent Strait, then kill the alpha on the southeast beach using Lightning or Light damage and catch it during the Catch Countdown.

Add to Google Preferences →Alpha Tubster weaknesses and damage multipliers
Alpha Tubster is a Wind creature, which means half the elements you might bring do nothing special and two of them get punished outright. Lightning and Light are the only multipliers worth building around.
| Interaction | Elements | Multiplier |
|---|---|---|
| Weak to | Lightning, Light | 1.6× |
| Neutral | Fire, Water, Grass, Ice, Earth | 1× |
| Resists | Wind, Dark | 0.625× |
Bringing a Wind or Dark attacker means giving up more than a third of your damage, which is usually the difference between a clean kill and watching the alpha finish its cast.

Fulmintis and Fenmane are the strongest Lightning attackers available for this fight, but both take real effort to obtain. Fentuft is the easy substitute — lower ceiling, same 1.6× multiplier, and the multiplier is doing most of the work here anyway. If you started with the Light lion, Helion also hits the weakness without any detour.
For breaking, Blazen is the pick. It combines a top-tier BREAK ladder position with the Lightning multiplier, which matters more than raw damage during the shield phase. On the defensive side, Wind supports like Tromber and Eklue resist everything the alpha throws back at you.
A workable low-effort party is Fentuft, Blazen, Eklue and Fenmane. It covers six of nine elements with high damage, high BREAK and strong support, but it runs thin on healing and energy generation, and every member shares an Ice weakness.
Fight mechanics: Shield phase and BREAK window
The encounter has one rule that decides whether it goes well. Partway through, on-screen text reads “The Alpha is gathering power. Destroy its shield to interrupt the casting!” and a barrier appears. Pour everything into the shield right then — your breaker’s skills, your charged attacks, whatever is off cooldown.

Once the shield falls, the game confirms it with a second line: “The target is weakened, and BREAK Resistance is greatly reduced!” That is the damage window. Stagger it into Break status and chain melee combos with elemental skills until its health bar collapses.

If your health dips, swap to a companion that can restore it rather than trying to out-damage the cast — the alpha respawns quickly, but a wipe resets the shield phase entirely.

How to catch Tubster after the fight
Defeating the alpha triggers a First Clear banner and a Catch Countdown. Walk up to the downed Tubster and open the capture interface before the timer runs out. The base catch rate for the alpha is 6%, so a low-grade Aniipod is a coin flip you will probably lose — a higher-grade pod pushes the displayed rate far higher, and at the top end the prompt reads 100%.
Confirm the catch, then claim the rewards. Claiming costs 30 Primegy. You will know it worked when the No. 010 Tubster card appears, the capture rewards are granted, and the Elite Training menu shows the quest step marked complete.

From there, Tubster shows up in your Aniimo inventory and party menu alongside the rest of your roster, and you can transform into it to fly along the shoreline.

Alpha Tubster challenge rewards by title rank
| Title | Dewdrop Crystal | Aniipod | Credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Special Admission Rookie | ×25 | Aniipod ×5 | 4,000 |
| Student I | ×25 | Aniipod ×5 | 5,000 |
| Student II | ×25 | Aniipod Pro ×5 | 6,000 |
| Student III | ×30 | Aniipod Pro ×5 | 7,000 |
| Wayfarer I | ×30 | Aniipod Pro ×5 | 8,000 |
| Wayfarer II | ×35 | Aniipod Mega ×5 | 9,000 |

| Trailblazer II | ×40 | Aniipod Mega ×5 | 12,000 |
Every tier also pays out Safaris ×150 and Windborn Stamps ×10, and the Dewdrop Crystals are the Breezy Plains variety. The crystal and Aniipod counts only move at a few breakpoints, but Credits climb steadily, so clearing this at a higher title is worth the wait if you are close to ranking up.
What beating Alpha Tubster unlocks
The clear is the unlock condition for Tubster’s evolution. With the alpha defeated, a Level 18 Chirpi with BREAK Potential of 6 or higher can evolve into Tubster for a cost of Gust Stone ×3, taking it from the Lumin stage straight to Nova.

That is the real payoff. Tubster is a Wind Break unit whose Victory Concerto trait raises BREAK efficiency by 40% while shielded and cuts the whole team’s stamina cost by 30% when a BREAK triggers. Its Resting Whirlwind skill costs 15 EP for 48 power on a one-second cooldown and carries the BREAK tag, firing two arcing whirlwinds that drag enemies together before exploding — useful well beyond the beach you caught it on.
