Himeko • Nova is a 5-star Fire character on the Path of Erudition, and she plays nothing like a standard area attacker. She deploys the Starblazer, hands every ally an Assist Skill, and stacks her own damage each time a teammate uses it before she fires a massive Ultimate. She scales on ATK, and she performs at her peak with at least one other Astral Express member in the lineup.

Quick answer: Equip A Star That Lights the Night, run 4-piece As Navigator Isee Sees It with the Fallen Star Anchorage Planar set, prioritize CRIT Rate and ATK%, and pair her with at least one Trailblaze Companion so her Companion Protocol and CRIT buffs activate.

Best Himeko Nova build at a summary

The core loop is simple once the pieces are in place. Keep her Skill buff active, let allies spend Assist Skills to stack her CRIT DMG and RES PEN, then release her Ultimate with everything online.

Light Cones ranked

Her signature is the clear best because it feeds her exact mechanic. Every Assist Skill use grants a Sail stack that raises Assist Skill damage, and at three stacks it also boosts Ultimate damage, while the passive DEF Ignore and Energy return keep her cycling faster.

Light ConeRarityWhy it works
A Star That Lights the Night5-starBest in slot. 32% DEF Ignore, 6 Energy per Assist Skill, and Sail stacks that raise Assist Skill and Ultimate DMG.
Into the Unreachable Veil5-starStrongest premium alternative. Adds CRIT Rate plus a large Skill and Ultimate DMG bonus after her 150-Energy Ultimate.
Night on the Milky Way5-starExcellent in wave content like Pure Fiction where she breaks enemies often, weaker against one or two targets.
Today Is Another Peaceful Day4-starReliable free pick. Her high Max Energy turns it into a large unconditional DMG boost.
Eternal Calculus5-star (free)Best widely available option, gaining value when she hits several enemies at once.

Relics and Planar Ornaments

As Navigator Isee Sees It is tailor made for her. The 2-piece adds 12% ATK, and the 4-piece raises Skill and Ultimate DMG by 18% per stack, up to three stacks, triggering when she enters combat or uses a Skill. Since her Assist Skill counts as a Skill, she keeps the stacks running throughout the fight.

Stat priority and targets

She is a multiplier-heavy carry, so CRIT stats win over raw ATK% in your substat rolls. Because much of her output comes from the Assist Skill, an Energy Regeneration Rope generally gives less than an offensive ATK% Rope.

StatTarget
ATK3,600+
CRIT Rate90%–100%
CRIT DMG120%–160%+
SPD111+

Substat order is CRIT Rate, then CRIT DMG, then SPD, then ATK%. Aim to close in on 100% CRIT Rate through relics, buffs, and the Fallen Star Anchorage bonus before pushing CRIT DMG higher.

Trace and skill priority

Level her Assist Skill, Talent, and Ultimate first, since those carry almost all of her damage. Her Basic ATK stays last. Among her major Traces, prioritize Whither, the Last and First Men? and Hark! The Express’s Pulse Roars before The Silver Rail, Hushed in Antiquity.

Best teams for Verdict and Decimation

When a Trailblaze Companion triggers her Assist Skill, she enters one of two states. Verdict pushes her personal Ultimate damage and works best around single, heavy targets. Decimation shares CRIT DMG with the whole party and shines against packed waves. Your lineup should follow the state you want to play.

Sunday is the most consistent partner because his action advance sets up her Skill buff before enemies move and feeds her Ultimate energy. Keep at least one Astral Express character on the team so her Companion Protocol and the Fallen Star Anchorage CRIT bonus stay active. She still functions without the Express core, but you lose the Planar CRIT buffs and some Assist Skill scaling.

How her rotation works

Use her Technique before a fight so she opens with a free Skill cast and enters combat with Navigator’s Semaphore active.
Cast her Skill to refresh Navigator’s Semaphore. While it is up, all allies deal 25% more damage and she regains one Assist Skill use at the start of every turn. Let this drop and the whole burst loses value.
Have your teammates spend their Assist Skills. Each use stacks her All-Type RES PEN and CRIT DMG, and her attacks can break Toughness regardless of the enemy’s Weakness Type.
Fire her Ultimate once the stacks are built. She takes control of the Starblazer, launches Hyperluminal Particle Beams to build Source Energy, then finishes with Orbital Annihilation Pulse and a Final Hit.

Note: The two most common ways to lose damage are letting Navigator’s Semaphore expire before the Ultimate and firing the Ultimate before allies have used their Assist Skills. Her Ultimate sits at the higher end of the Energy scale, so plan Source Energy and Skill usage to keep her cycling.

Eidolons and where to stop

Her signature Light Cone is her single strongest upgrade because it stacks DEF Shred, ATK%, and DMG Bonus. E1 and E2 raise how often she generates Assist Skills, and E6 dramatically boosts Ultimate damage. E0 clears current endgame content, and E2S1 is the ideal stopping point for most players.

EidolonEffectValue
E1Generates extra Assist Skills through her passiveOne of her strongest early jumps
E2Grants non-Express allies extra turns, raising Assist Skill frequencyIdeal stopping point
E6Dramatically increases Ultimate damageWhale territory only

If you already own her signature, chase E1 then E2 next, since her mechanics scale harder than raw stats. If you have no signature, secure the Light Cone first because so much of her stat weight lives there. Either way, she is at her best in multi-target modes like Pure Fiction and Memory of Chaos, where repeated Assist Skill uses feed a larger Ultimate payload.
