Beasts of Thunder Ridge is an early Horde leatherworking task in World of Warcraft that sends you into the canyons of Durotar. It asks for two things: raw lizard hides pulled from the beasts of Thunder Ridge, and a single cured hide that you either buy or craft yourself.

The quest tracks two objectives in your log. Both must read as complete before you can hand it in.

- A trip to Thunder Ridge in Durotar, south of Orgrimmar
- Return to Maruut Stonebinder in the Valley of Honor and turn in
Farming Rough Lizard Hides in Thunder Ridge
Thunder Ridge is a canyon area in Durotar, sitting just south and southwest of Orgrimmar. Head out of the city and follow the cliffs down into the gorge where the lizards roam.
Two creatures spawn here and both drop what you need. Clear them until your log shows 5/5 Rough Lizard Hide.

The Rough Lizard Hide is a normal quest drop. You get it by looting the corpse after the beast dies, not through the Skinning profession. If you have Skinning, you can still skin the same corpse afterward for Light Leather and scraps, but that step is separate from the quest item.
Getting the Cured Light Hide
The second objective is a single Cured Light Hide. You have two routes, and both run through Orgrimmar. Pick whichever is cheaper on your realm.
Buy it from the Auction House
The fastest option is to buy a finished Cured Light Hide outright. Visit Auctioneer Grimful at the Orgrimmar Auction House and search for Cured Light Hide. A finished hide often lists for only around 1 silver 30 copper to 1 silver 50 copper, which is usually cheaper than gathering the parts yourself.
Craft it with Leatherworking
If you have Leatherworking, you can make the hide yourself. The recipe needs 1 Light Hide and 1 Salt. Light Hide drops from beasts in Durotar and The Barrens, or you can buy one at the Auction House. Salt is a common reagent sold by vendors and also listed in the Auction House.
Open your Leatherworking window, select Cured Light Hide, and craft it with the two reagents in your bags. The result counts toward the quest immediately.
Turn in the quest at the Valley of Honor
Once your bags hold 5 Rough Lizard Hides and 1 Cured Light Hide, return to Orgrimmar and find Maruut Stonebinder in the Valley of Honor. Hand the items over to complete the quest.
You will know it worked when both objectives read 5/5 and 1/1 in the quest log and the turn-in option appears on Maruut Stonebinder. After you confirm, the quest clears from your log and you collect the reward.
