There is no combat, no puzzle, and no way to fail it once you are sitting at the table.

How to start and complete the quest

Open the Message app and read Nanally’s new thread. She asks the Appraiser to catch a movie, and the replies run through “What movie?”, “Oh, so it is a horror movie. What’s it called?” and “Why so mysterious?” before she settles on a meeting spot. Working through that exchange is what accepts “A Mysterious Horror Movie…”.

Check the quest log to confirm the objective registered. The entry appears under Colucci Anecdote – Mysterious Video and points you to Eibon’s backyard on Hankaku Street, in the Bridge Crossings district of Old Town.

Fast travel to the ReroRero Phone Booth nearest Hankaku Street, then follow the marker down the street. The backyard sits behind a low wall, so you may need to vault over it rather than looking for a door.

Walk up to Nanally at the patio table under the blooming tree and interact with her. The prompt list at the table includes options such as “Turn on the radio” and “Sit Down”; sitting down with her is what starts the cutscene.

Sit through the scene to the end. Nanally queues up a file called “Not for the Faint of Heart: The Scariest Tales of Hethereau!”, and the dialogue runs on rails from there. No choice you pick changes whether the quest completes.

What the “horror movie” turns out to be

The clip opens with eerie music and then drops the act entirely. It is a troll link, and what actually plays is the opening theme to an anime called Nini’s Adventures. Nanally realizes she got played, then owns it, explaining that the show is a gangster anime and something close to her spiritual foundation, which fits a Colucci enforcer whose profile tagline reads “When dragons meet tigers, I rule my turf! Colucci Family, now recruiting!”

The file cuts out right after the theme song ends. Nanally says she will track down the original folder with the full episodes so the two of you can watch the series together later, and the scene returns to the backyard.

Rewards and how to confirm completion

You will know it worked when the “Colucci Anecdote – Mysterious Video Quest Complete” banner appears as the cutscene fades out in the backyard. The payout is 100 Bond EXP and 10 Nanally Bond items, and the completion screen also credits Hunter Level EXP. Nanally’s bond gauge in the Bond menu should tick up immediately afterward.

Note: the quest entry disappears from the log once the banner shows, so check her Bond page rather than the quest menu if you want to verify the EXP landed.

Why the quest may not show up

Two things stop this one from appearing. The first is bond level: if Nanally is below Affection 4, the movie invitation never arrives, and no amount of running to Hankaku Street will spawn her. Gift her until the gauge crosses the threshold and check the Message app again.

The second is the message thread itself. The quest is accepted inside the conversation, not from a world marker, so leaving her texts unanswered means the objective never enters your log. Nanally also runs separate threads such as Family Small Talk and a getting-to-know-you chat with their own reply options, so make sure you are in the one where she brings up the movie.

Once the banner clears, Nanally goes back to her usual routine and her bond track continues with the next Colucci Anecdote entry. It is one of the shorter bond scenes in the game, which makes it an easy few minutes of Bond EXP whenever you are trying to push her affection higher.
